PlayerIO don't have a python client (which you need to make bots), but there was an attempt to make an unofficial one a while ago, not sure how successful it was / if it still works though (link)

The attempt was successful in my opinion, as I believe there is a handful of people that are using it.

I don't believe any of its features can become nonfunctional unless PlayerIO changes their API, but that would imply for all PlayerIO games to update their client library, so it is unlikely.

The project is given some attention time to time, the last new feature being published about a month ago.
