Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

some topics gets recreated because of being old/owner not updating it

this is something that should be fixed like requesting to be a new host of a topic and froum admin/mod checks the request abnd checks the activity of the topic and in some cases askes the owner of topic

it really doesn't need to be fixed i don't know why the admmods here are so obsessed with putting everything that's discussing same/similar subject into the same topic anyways it really isn't necessary

And it makes it MUCH easier to find something because it's all in one place rather than being spread out randomly in different topics. If we had a discussion spanning multiple topics then people would just end up repeating themselves, or constantly referencing the other topics.

^ generaly i like these topics that gets recreated because owner isnt actiave nnymore (example: the rulebreaking topic and birthdsaday topic) but recreating doesnt realy solve tha its open again...

That's a unique situation. The topic assumes that the topic creator will be around to combine all the information offered. When that person isn't around, we can't just magically give a new person rights to that topic

And we as "admmods" don't want to have to manage every random topic someone makes.

But yes, combining relevant topics is useful because then we can reasonably assume each poster has at least read that topic through. This hopefully minimizes the amount of times we hear the same argument carried out. (cuts down on redundancy though I suppose some people like that)

it's useful when they're at/around the same time

it's stupid when someone makes a topic but oh wait someone else was discussing something like it five months ago better merge the topics

that tends to just pointlessly clutter the new topic with the old stuff

if it's a discussion that's already been drawn out and completed then just linking the old one is plenty

no? just if you're away for 1 week doesn't mean i want people stealing all my topics... at least you could ask for approval to do so.

If the topics get merged then maybe the person who merged them can add smth to the OP in the case of new info? (Like on the birthday list, merge the two threads and add at the top of the OP that the updated list is on x post/page)
