Stuck on trying to join world.

When I try to join some of my worlds I get stuck on the trying to join game screen. Eventually I get

server error
your connection to the world has timed out pleas try again later

the link never changes to the world.

it is only for some of my worlds.

it may have to do with the number of portals and stuff in the world.

If you google speed test, and click "RUN SPEED TEST", what does it say your internet speed is?

Mbps upload

Im pretty sure it has to do with the number of portals in the world. only my massive system based worlds are affected.

well I use to be able to join them.

one of the worlds was unsavable last time I checked. Ut is saved at a point right before the limit.

It wouldn't think it would be a world size / internet speed problem as you have fast enough internet, and I cant join them either... Also in task manager it doesnt look like its downloading anything, it just seems to be stuck for some reason.

My best guess is that it is a server side problem, so you'll need a staff member to look into it for you

if i open two tabs of ee and join my world with one, the other tab will tell me there is one person on my world.

I'm having the same problem, too. However, if I did get in one of my worlds, it won't save, because the save system is broken. I think it's because when the server went out, the save system stopped working properly. (That's my theory.)

is the world very big (like 200x200 or bigger) and does it have loads of signs/portals/switches ect?

Sometimes that could cause problems saving, but I just believe when the server went out, it broke the save system, which was really frustrating.

Does anyone else agree with my theory here? :/

Although I guess it would be possible, I dont think it would be likely that something like a server crash could cause long lasting problems, especially because its PlayerIO that handles the saving, not EE.

I'm guessing that it might just be a coincidence that a few people have had their worlds reach the limit at around the same time, although I'd say that the one in this topic is almost definately a different bug.
Either that or the staff have made some change to the save system that had unintended consequences, and increased the amount of data that needs to be stored.

I have a feeling that it is a client sided issue, unless it takes more than 20 seconds to compile the world data . I believe that a developer needs to run the client in debug mode and see what is happening because there are rarely server sided issues.

Its definately a server side issue, me and a couple of others have all checked and confirmed that. Even when using a bot that does nothing apart from log 'Init recieved' it doesnt load.

Its definately a server side bug, this bot literally just logs messages, theres no chance it could be causing the error

wow I think this is the issue

Maybe the threads are being aborted... @staffmemberwithplayerioaccess maybe go to the "Multiplayer" section, under "Statistics" look at the graph under "operations" and take a look at the "Total CPU Aborts" number, and if it is anything other than zero then that is probably the issue.
