Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Intel CPU's are vulnerable to Meltdown, which isn't fixable in microcode and has to be worked around in software in a way that tanks the performance of syscall-heavy applications.

AMD and ARM are also affected by Spectre, but I think AMD is less affected by Spectre. None of the fixes with Spectre seem to have much of a performance impact.

I think it sucks to own an Intel processor rn.

^ Just watched that video and was about to post it here //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

And its scary //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/sad
Technically the processors arent doing anything wrong, they are just prefetching information that might be needed, so its not just a problem that has a simple fix (without completely disabling a feature that speeds up processor speed significantly)

(just going to stick a big citation needed here //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue)

HELp

No really, this really scary, especially because it can be executed using JavaScript (sites visiting becomes dangerous).

How could javascript access memory directly? Can you post source?

I have never thought of programming for reputation and honor. What I have in my heart must come out. That is the reason why I code.

I read something about SharedArrayBuffer or something and then new browser timers are too accurate to the point that they endanger cryptographic algorithms.

Not by this exploit, no.

By thousands of other exploits, yeah.

Contraty to popular belief, windows 95 is one of the most secure OS's.

Probably just because nobody uses it anymore so nobody has any reason to bother find the exploits and insecurities
