Because it kinda defeats the whole purpose of coins. Coins should not be changed to work like this. Instead, something new should be added that has the function of resetting the value you have or simply adding/subtracting from it. Eg. 'points' which have also been suggested several times in various forms.

Back to where the coins were orignially. Youre resetting all coins, so it wouldnt need to pick which come back and which dont, they would just all come back.

because coins arent a point system, they are actual items in the level that can be placed.
unless you want to have the game break when trying to decide what coins to ¨delete,¨ i would suggest kirby’ s idea
