I'm not sure how I feel about that. It seems like it would be rather easy to activate it by accident, and the player would have no idea what's happening and why. Meanwhile, the current death Easter egg is very hard to activate by accident, and it's pretty easy to figure out why it was activated even if you do it by accident.

Mario is copyrighted, but not all of it, i.e you can't make a game that uses mario and luigi as characters but you can use its blocks and music
according to google "generic" here means "a consumer product having no brand name or registered trademark"
