You could still probably fix it, by sending an movement message when you change gravity, or including the position in the effect message
You should also not send the gravity message to the person who sent it (same as with teams etc) as this means if two effects are very close together, you might receive the message for the first after you get the second, causing gravity to flip back briefly (also why you get stuck in team doors)

Well if both you and the person doing it had a low enough ping (less than one game tick) then it would probably look fine, but even small delays can make this happen, it would just take longer
