Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

How exactly does new post notification system work?

What exactly are the conditions that need to be met so that that yellow circle, if you are using coal theme, becomes gray. Like, 3 seconds being on page, or scrolling to bottom, or moving mouse in page, or whatever else.

This has been bothering me ever since I joined this site because when, for example, I open 5 new posts, at least 1-2 aren't going to be marked as read.

Thanks in advice AKA I know that barely anyone is going to even see this, let alone reply it

You just need to go into the topic, then it gets marked as read. Though I have noticed that sometimes if you close all the tabs and then open the forum again, the ones that were marked as read become unread again. But I've never seen some get marked as read, and others not. You might just need to refresh.
