Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Woots are positive, it makes no sense to have a limit.
Unless a mod or user can explain to me the downsides of woot spamming, please do.

Woot spamming? Defeats the purpose of saying 'hey that's cool'
Plus, it makes no sense to have a user's name attached to every post they read, while others are wooting things that are generally woot worthy.
I see it as a sign that woots are worth something.
Edit: mods are users too

i remember somebody wrote a code which woots every post. i think thats why limit was added

again, what's the downside of that? does it harm anyone?

Remove woots limits, get more Bytes and make forum less lagier.
because there's no value to your woots if it's on every post, making it hard for you to actually point out a post you likeed
so? who cares if my woots are not valued

It's still messy. It's one thing for a post here and there to have a few woots. It's another to have every post coated in a thick layer.

It would just be clutter on every post seeing the same names over and over again. It would be very annoying to look at.
Also having a limit makes woot special and limited, so you know if somebody wooted your post that they actually enjoyed it or thought it was a good post. If there was no limit the woots might just become "I saw this post and it was ok" markers instead of something with meaning.

what if diff made some sort of thingamajiggalabuggalotoot where if one woots X amount of posts in Y seconds, the forum would prevent them from doing any more as it senses "spam"
kind of like how EE prevents you from chatting if you chat too much within a certain time period
of course there could be exploits (i.e. wooting a post every 10 seconds, thus bypassing the prevention, but who really has the time?) but that's for later
