i propose 2 changes:

1) allow spam forum games like 'last poster wins' and 'count to infinity' just dont allow ppl to make multiple posts in a row
2) allow users to request custom titles and as long as they are ok they get them

it would be fun who is with me

with #2 i think there should be some sort of procedure, maybe have people vote or something

edit: 1234590359872487293847 did make a good point as they ninja'd me... some topic had the suggestion of voting for a title or petitioning or something. that way the title means something. If users get titles, I like that idea.

If that's the case, I would suggest adding ranks back to the forum. It might not be useful if the "custom title" suggestion is added back, though. Perhaps the two could be combined, and custom titles could be the final "rank"?

how about we add ranks but forum game posts dont count toward "Posts:" instead we create a second post count called "Forum Games Posts:"
"Forum Games Posts:" is not associated with ranks
but id rather not have custom title as final rank bc i dont want to post

We should also have a counter of how many /"posts"/ you have to make before you get a custom title!

no ranks please, that will make people post more at the cost of quality of posted content basically forums will become even more cancerous than they are now

It made me feel more like I'm accomplishing more when theres a tiny little rank below my username. Most of the "spam" was in forum games, and if you remove the post count from there, people might not spam forum games quite so much. Although they might just move it to other forums, it would be harder to do since they are actual discussions rather than topics where you can mostly post a word or two and be on your way.

This is kind of slightly completely useless. Spam forum games aren't fun. And in this forum, titles besides Member are rare and have great significance, so custom titles would be stupid.
