SUMMER CONTEST
Team Name: guy
Members: skullz17
World Url: http://everybodyedits.com/games/PWpABkr5PhbkI
Theme:
Score: 0/10 x2 = 0
Reasons:
The story at the beginning tells us that it's a summer level, but the level itself does little to showcase summer.
There are parts of the level that have sand elements, and the sunset is one of the strongest points, but this is all outweighed by the castle or cave parts, which took up a majority of the level.
Difficulty:
Score: 0/10
Reasons:
The trial of endurance is too hard. I beat it by landing halfway on spike hazards.
1 block jumps, including a part where you have to jump on another character's head to reach a platform.
Some of the minigames in the cave section required too much prescision.
Gameplay:
Score: 1/10 x2 = 2
Reasons:
It's a strange mash of effect minigames, normal minigames, and puzzles. As a result, it's not very cohesive.
Switch 1 is poorly located. When I jump to switch it on, I have to hold right immediately to avoid switching it off again.
Invisible portals are hard to detect at first in front of the auction house at first, but you marked them all with a jolly roger. This helps of course, but just leaves me asking: why not just use normal portals?
The buying and selling puzzle was very creative (maybe a little repetitive). Had more of the level been focused on gameplay like that, it would have been a much better level.
Overall, if you took one or two of your gameplay ideas and clarified them, you'd have a much better level.
Art:
Score: 5/10
Reasons:
The art for the most part was average. There were parts of the level that were bland, like the inside of the castle and caves.
However, the part with the sunset and lightning strike were very pretty.
Story:
Score: 2/5
Reasons:
Lots of reading at the very beginning. Had you created a scene for each of the signs it would have helped a lot.
The story of a drought was creative, and lends itself to be incorperated into a summer level.
I wish there were more dry sandy areas to show this. There was little to connect me to the plight of the town, thus I wasn't so motivated to save it.
Total: 0/65 (8/65)
Comments:
Despite the low score, this has the beginnings to become a great level. It just needs some refining and some more focus. I'm excited to see what levels you make in the future.

THE VOLCANO DISASTER
Team Name: Cake Team
Members: Kalina, GamerJanko1, Samuil, Mobihel
World Url: http://everybodyedits.com/games/PWJde_xvzyb0I
Theme:
Score: 1 x2 = 2
Reasons:
There are summer elements in the level, like the coral cave and the water, but not quite enough to be the focal point of the level.
Difficulty:
Score: 0/10
Reasons:
There were many challenges in the level that required precision jumping. It's too difficult.
It's also possible to break the level by standing halfway on the blue coin to collect it, then going left. If someone did this the level would be impossible to beat.
Gameplay:
Score: 0/10 x2 = 0
Reasons:
There are minis that are often overused to inflate the difficulty of the level. Including 1 block jumps, and a hookjump.
There was 1 instance where a wall of invisible blocks blocked my jump while climbing up the volcano. This was annoying.
The water challenges on the other side of the volcano were fun to play.
Most important advice: the challenges you create need more leniency. This can be done by making challenges that can be beat by jumping on any 3 to 5 adjacent blocks instead of just 1.
Art:
Score: 6/10
Reasons:
The art is simple and understandable.
The variety of areas do a great job at creating different moods throughout the level.
There were some standout pieces of art including:
- The yellow and purple at the start of the coral caves
-That building at the start of chapter 2
-The portals
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
The story set us right into the action with the volcano. You can see the village that you are fighting to save at the start, which drives the player onwards.
The fact that the main character was always afraid of the volcano, but then climbed it towards the end shows our character overcoming their fears.
Sacrifice is an appreciated character trait, and really made me feel like a hero when I saved the town.
Total: 0/65 (12/65)
Comments:
The true standout of this level is the storytelling. Also, the way the level is divided into chapters with unique settings makes it very memorable.
Despite missing the brief on difficulty, and the lack of summer in the level, I'm very impressed with it.
Practice making more challenges that are fun, but not too unforgiving. The two water minigames are a good place to start.

ITER AESTAS
Team Name: Pizza

World ID: http://everybodyedits.com/games/PWjJMPJyYub0I
Theme:
Score: 10/10 x2 = 20
Reasons:
Beaches and costal towns and wilderness. Put these together, you have a summer level.
Difficulty:
Score: 0
Reasons:
The minigames are great, but they're just too difficult.
Gameplay:
Score: 6/10 x2 = 12
Reasons:
Most of the minigames were excellent.
The first minigame, however, happened to be about as challenging as the rest. Easing the player into the level with an easier minigame at first would help.
Some nitpicks:
-There was a speed control part towards the beginning over spikes that should have had a checkpoint in front of it.
-It was pretty tricky to see where to do in the building minigame (the one with the black and yellow oneways).
-The underwater minigame under the boat was a tad too long.
Art:
Score: 9/10
Reasons:
The art is phenominal. Very immersive.
My only nitpicks would be the use of some of the wood plank texture backgrounds as soil in some places, and some steps were hard to see.
Did I already mention that the art is phenominal?
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
It's just beautiful landscape, no deep story or signs.
Iter Aestas means summer tour, and that's what the level is all about.
Sometimes the best stories are the simplest.
Total: 0/65 (45/65)
Comments:
Fantastic level. Thorougly engaging and fun.
I'm sorry to say that it didn't meet the difficulty brief, which gives the level a 0. I'm still nominating it for an honorable mention.
I still would like to see this level in a future campaign. You did a good job.
_____
FW - TROPICAL TRIP
Team Name: Fire Wolves
Members: Omarabdulhaq , JoranasC , Goldy301 , SupersS, tygrcz
World ID: http://everybodyedits.com/games/PWB5w2RcgrcEI
Theme:
Score: 2/10 x2 = 4
Reasons:
A good part of the level took place inside the restauraunt, which wasn't too summer-themed. Had you put it on a boardwalk, and perhaps added tasks like grilling food for the customers or shooing away some seagulls, it would feel more like summer.
However, the outdoor park and the tropical island were summer-related, so you get points in those areas.
Difficulty:
Score: 0/10
Reasons:
Dot trails on the pizza delivery part were too tedious. I spent too much time trying to line up with dots instead of riding my bike.
Lots of 1 block jumps, and some minigames (like baking cupcakes, cutting the cake, and delivering soda) were too difficult to be medium.
Gameplay:
Score: 6/10 x2 = 12
Reasons:
It's a mixed bag. Some of the tasks/minigames are excellent, while others are just plain.
The preview of timed shopping mini was a really good idea to allow the player to observe and strategize. However, you forgot some one-ways under the portals, and centering on a timer is poor design.
Some tasks were arrow minigames, which seemed less inspired than the others.
Once you reach the tropical island, the minigames added there seem to just be filler space. Had you left them out, or had there been people on the beach who needed help completing tasks, it would help.
Sadly, the player can stop in some systems by holding up. I don't blame you for it though, boosts suck.
Enough about the negatives. Here are some things I really liked with your level.
The dialouge trees don't have too much reading, and plenty of action in between.
The phone call dialouge, with the objective to be polite, was very creative. I don't think I can stress enough that it was genius. Awesome work.
I loved the concept of the task minigames, but the the pizza and cake making took the cake. They're simple, smart, and fun puzzles. I could play a level filled with those all day.
Art:
Score: 3/10
Reasons:
The art, for the most part, was average. However, there was a sacrifice of upclose art for minimap art.
This can be seen with the industrial wires in the road at the start, and the industrial parts in the sky around the sun especially.
On the bright side, the people art is excellent. They really help the level.
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
It's a good story. The different areas help give depth to the world our character is in. The birthday party is a great motivator to drive the player forwards, and a fun reward at the end.
Total: 0/65 (23/65)
Comments:
Overall, this level is fun and memorable. You did a good job mixing dialouge and gameplay. Making a level this complex in a couple of weeks is no small feat.

COOL YOURSELF DOWN
Team Name: The Campaign masters
Members: Charlie59876, march18, jeremy300, cherrypie45
World Url: http://everybodyedits.com/games/PW5EzV9DPZb0I
Theme:
Score: 2/10 x2 = 4
Reasons:
Sand, shade, umbrellas, and trying to cool off. Very summery.
Playing EE campaigns, not quite as summery.
Difficulty:
Score: 6/10
Reasons:
Lots of basic at the beginning, but it got easy-medium at the end
Gameplay:
Score: 0/10 x2 = 0
Reasons:
Good pacing at the start, with easier challenges.
So many invisible portals, arrows, and blocks. It would be difficult for a newer player to understand.
The minigames in the campaigns were a bit too generic.
Art:
Score: 1/10
Reasons:
It's pretty basic. The summer parts aren't so bad though.
That umbrella is very very nice looking. I like that umbrella.
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
It's a fun and wacky story.
Total: 15/65
Comments:
This is a pretty decent level. Short and simple. My biggest complaint is that it may be too simple.

The CASTAWAY
Team name: Torbes and his...
Members: Torbes, Aorta
World Url: http://everybodyedits.com/games/PWUJ1dD1EucEI
Theme:
Score: 5/10 x2 = 10
Reasons:
It's a tropical island. The survival theme competes with the summer theme.
Difficulty:
Score: 4/10
Reasons:
The timing is lenient.
The minis are medium, some are too tedious.
Gameplay:
Score: 8/10 x2 = 16
Reasons:
Creative timing and survival gameplay.
The vine mini over the swamp water was below average.
It is possible to get stuck in the transitions between scenes with the invisible portals. Stop on one just as you go to the next scene, then walk the wrong way. It's possible to get out though, so your level isn't broken.
The bouncy jungle mini was very fun.
Art:
Score: 8/10
Reasons:
Really good art. The use of blue carpet as water is questionable, but it works well enough to be seen as water.
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
A story of the survival and escape on an island? Cool story.
Total: 37/65
Comments:
Fun, creative level. Some minis were too tedious, and the level could be of a tropical survival theme rather than summer.

WAVES
Team Name: The Plebs
Members: mp3000, hilbo, smilis, ferary
World Url: http://everybodyedits.com/games/PWhrsPSkItcEI
Theme:
Score: 10/10 x2 = 20
Reasons:
It's a sandcastle and water. That's summer.
Oh and there's a waterslide too, that's fun!
Difficulty:
Score: 0/10
Reasons:
It's just too difficult to be medium.
Gameplay:
Score: 1/10 x2 = 2
Reasons:
One block jumps with dots on top isn't that great of a gameplay.
The level starts with a difficult mini, not easing the player in.
Invisible portals at the end of the pointed tower mini were confusing.
The waterslide at the end of the level is a good concept, and fun. It just needs some refining to be easier on the turns.
Art:
Score: 4/10
Reasons:
The colors used in the evening sky are very pretty. They work well together and in setting the mood of the level.
Unfortunately the floating castles, waterslide, and ocean below lack cohesion.
Your level could also benefit from the use of more decorations.
I like the flat stylized look of the minimap. It reminds me of paper collage.
The house and palm trees at the end are very pretty.
The use of unique colors on the palm tree (the dark red and brown, mixed with the teal and dark green) work beautifully.
Also, the use of the bamboo on the house's roof is fantastic.
I would like the rest of the level had the detail and care that the ending island did.
Story:
Score: 2/5
Reasons:
As far as the story telling goes, the level doesn't have much to do about saving summer. I don't know what I'm saving it from, and all I did was arrive at my beach hut.
The story itself is pretty good, I just need more visuals to go with it.
Total: 0/65 (28/65)
Comments:
You met the summer brief perfectly. The choice of colors you used in the art is phenominal, it really set the mood of the level. The biggest problem is minigames need refinement and additional creativity.
Perhaps start by exploring some ideas with the waterslide part.

Reasons:
Super fun, super original minigames and boss fighting system.
Art:
Score: 10/10

Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
Save summer from evil? It's a good story.

Theme:
Score: 10.10 x2 = 20
Reasons:
Beaches + pinetree forests + steamship = summer.
Difficulty:
Score: 0/10
Reasons:
There's a one-way platform I can't reach in the pine forest. Level is impossible to beat.
If the one-way is a decoy, and I have to jump on the tree another way, you still get a 0 because it would be too difficult to beat.
I stopped playing here because I couldn't beat it.
Gameplay:
Score: 4/10 x2 = 8
Reasons:
Minigames are pretty okay. Not the best, not the worst.
Difficult to see where to go in pine forest at first
Art:
Score: 9/10
Reasons:
Pretty upclose art, that fish sign is excellent.
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
Collect 4 legendary ice cream flavors to get my own. That's very fun.
Total: 0/65 (41/65)
Comments:
Nice art. Okay minigames. Excellent and creative story. Level isn't possible to beat. I wish I didn't have to give this level a 0.

Theme:
Score: 10/10 x2 = 20
Reasons:
Sandcastles are summer themed.
Difficulty:
Score:8/10
Reasons:
Perfect, except one low ceiling jump in mini 3 was tedious.
Gameplay:
Score: 7/10 x2 = 14
Reasons:
Mostly average minigames. The timed ones were a blast though.
The timer on the timed minigames wasn't really needed, but whatever they were still fun.
Art:
Score: 8/10
Reasons:
It's simple, it works, it's pretty. I can tell where I'm going.
The sun in the corner is too big, but I'm not taking off points because it could be stylized and it works.
Could have had some clouds above the castle. It looks blank up there.
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
Trying to reach the water through a crumbling sand castle for a swim. It's simple and it works.
Total: 44/65

It's a sand castle. So it's summer themed.
Difficulty:
Score: 0/10
Reasons:
1 block jumps, mini 2 has a long reset, and I can't even beat the challenge after the 3rd coin. So not medium.
Gameplay:
Score: 6/10 x2 = 12
Reasons:
Standard minigames. However, there was a fun sliding puzzle at the start.
Art:
Score: 6/10
Reasons:
Pretty sand with multiple textures. I like the flower pots in the windows, adding splashes of bright colors.
Story:

Theme:
Score: 10/10 x2 = 20
Reasons:
Palm trees, waterfalls, and sand. It's very summer themed.
Difficulty:
Score: 9/10
Reasons:
Most of the minis were medium difficulty. I got lost after coin 9.
Some of the starting points of the minis are hard to notice.
Gameplay:
Score: 8/10 x2 = 16
Reasons:
Fun minigames. Nothing much else to add to that.
Art:
Score: 9/10
Reasons:
Excellent attention to detail. It's very beautiful.
My only nitpick would be the use of dark wood planks for soil.
Story:
Score: 1/5
Reasons:
There really wasn't a story. I started in a sand cave and ended on a happy cheerful beach. Maybe that's what the goal was.
Total: 55/65
Comments:
It's a good minigame level. I really think the art is the hero of this level though.
_____
THE SUMMER CAVE
Team name: The Turbo Builders
Members: Latif, Momin
World Url: http://everybodyedits.com/games/PWW7N8Kl7ObEI
Theme:
Score: 10/10 x2 = 20
Reasons:
It's got sand, some brightly painted planks of wood, awnings, and a pool of water. Seems like summer to me.
Difficulty:
Score: 0/10
Reasons:
Some minigames require 1 block jumps or landings.
Speed control part at the challenge to reach the fly effect is difficult.
The double jump minigame is too difficult to be medium.
Gameplay:
Score: 1/10 x2 = 2
Reasons:
Average minigames, for the most part. Speed control part and 1 block jumps make the gameplay tedious.
There's a coin you have to fall back to the start of the mini to get. It doesn't work well.
The 1 block centering on the arrow above the trapdoor is tedious
There's a 1 block place to land, with a tower of sideways one ways. Tedious to make the landing.
The use of many effect blocks created a good amount of variety in the level.
Art:
Score: 5/10
Reasons:
The art was mostly average. I like the use of multiple textures in the soil, and the small summery booths throughout the level.
The biggest problem is the caves look so similar, making the level feel repetitive.
However, that ending part with the stilted house and pool helped counter that.
Story:
Score: 3/5
Reasons:
There isn't much of a written story, but you go from being inside a dark cave to a stilted house. The assumption is that you are leaving the caves to go home, which works well for a story.
Total: 0/65 (30/65)
Comments:
I really liked the marbled soil backgrounds. The idea of a summer cave with the little summer booths in it is very creative. It's summery, yet creative in its own way.
The minigames just need some work on leniency. It will make your levels more fun to play.
_____
SUMMER NIGHT
Team Name: Eggz
Members: Eggz, Napakeun
World Url:http://everybodyedits.com/games/PWe4BRPScgcEI
Theme:
Score: 2/10 x2 = 2
Reasons:
The idea of a summer night is a good concept, but it just needs more stuff to feel summery, whether it be a hammok or a tent or a small campfire.
Difficulty:
Score: 9/10
Reasons:
Difficulty was pretty good. There were some parts that were hard to tell where I had to go.
Gameplay:
Score: 1/10 x2 = 2
Reasons:
1 block height of water is tedious to get out of (near the 2nd gold door)
There's also a 1 block landing/jump after coin 3
Most of the level also feels claustrophobic.
Art:
Score: 4/10
Reasons:
The minimap art is great. The simplified forms of the trees and colorful stars give the level a nostalgic feel.
The dark color pallette with cool blue, teal, and some yellow-green give the level the darkness and vibrancy of a summer night.
However, the upclose art is almost nonexsistant. The level needs some more decorations.
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
It's a summer night. The art pretty much tells that story.
Total: 21/65
Comments:
The idea of a summer night is beautiful and creative, and the colors and map art potray that lovely. It just needs more decoration and detail artwise.
Gameplay wise, the level needs more open space to feel less crammed, and the minigames need more leniency to be more fun.
Overall, you did a good job.

Reasons:
Despite taking place inside of a museum, there were a wide variety of summer areas like summer camp, harbor, beach, and summer carnival.
Difficulty:
Score: 0/10
Reasons:
Many of the minigames were tedious, including the kayaking and fishing ones.
The level broke when I collected the crowbar, and couldn't use it. I was unable to finish because of this.
Gameplay:
Score: 5/10 x2 = 10
Reasons:
The minigames are rather generic, crammed, and tedious, but the use of the museum as a hub world gave the level a more open environment to explore.
Art:
Score: 8/10
Reasons:
Hyper-detailed art. Pretty to look at. Especially the paintings.
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
Interesting story about the sun, and a plot twist that you have the power to enter paintings. It's surreal, but enjoyable.
Total: 0/65 (40/65)

This level is very unique and the wide variety of summery areas is very awesome. It just needs more work on the minigames. But overall you did a really good job.

There were some tedious minigames from time to time.
Gameplay:

Reasons:
Most of the minigames were great, some involved water climbing, a suicide coin, and centering on a block.
The hub world and open exploration really made the level immersive and fun.
Art:
Score: 10/10
Reasons:
The minimap art is superb. Normally, I'd expect that upclose art would be expended on art that gorgeous, but upclose art is pretty as well.
It's all beautiful.
Story:

Reasons:
It's a pretty story. I enjoy that the level takes place in four iconic areas of the world.
Also the visuals accompanied by the text at the beginning is astounding.

Reasons:
Popcicles, a sun wearing sunglasses, a giant ice cream. All of this on an island. It's very summery.
Difficulty:
Score: 0/10
Reasons:
There were too many challenges in the level that required precision speed control and jumping.
This made the level too difficult.
Gameplay:
Score: 0/10 x2 = 0
Reasons:
See difficulty. Also, one of the invisible portals meant to set you to the start of the challenge teleports you to a later part.
Had you made 5 good minis, instead of using the time to make more with less quality, the level would probably be more fun to play. Sometimes levels can be short and sweet.
Art:
Score: 8/10
Reasons:
The upclose art isn't bad, but the minimap art is awesome. I like how you've added a black border to everything, making it stylized.
I really liked the use of stars to give the level a clean sparkling look.
The Wild West planks of wood in the water make it look good on the minimap, but not so good up close.
Story:
Score: 3/5
Reasons:
Finding a chocolate ice cream is a fun story. I found the sun character to be very funny and creative. However, there should be a sign or something at the start that tells you to look for the chocolate ice cream.
Total: 0/65 (31/65)
Comments:
The level is a really good start. Like you said in the sign at the beginning though, it needs more time.

Difficulty:
Score: 8/10
Reasons:
The difficulty seems to be easy-medium. Some parts are tedious though (see below).
Gameplay:
Score: 3/10 x2 = 6
Reasons:
It's a pretty standard parkour level. I really liked the part with the wind, and the ending area was very relaxing.
The diagonol ladder climb is tedious, and so is the part where you jump over boosts to get the blue coin.
It's simplicity lends itself to make the level seem a bit dull though.
Art:
Score: 5/10
Reasons:
The art is very simple, but effective. I like the blocky people
The palm trees being tossed through the air by the wind was really cool.
The level could have looked more finished with more decorations.
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
A journey to go to the beach and have fun. I like it.
The people and their dialouge really create an immersive environment.
Total: 43/65

Difficulty:
Score: 0/10
Reasons:
Super precise jumps everywhere make this level too difficult.
Gameplay:
Score: 0/10 x2 = 0
Reasons:
Low ceiling jumps, invisible portals in places I wouldn't expect a minigame reset to be. Makes the level seem clunky.
Art:
Score: 7/10
Reasons:
The sand snake is really well made. I really enjoy the sandy areas with an occasional shovel, bucket, or beachball.
The magic bricks placed under the effects work really well.
The ending part with the clam is beautiful. The blues contrast the sandy colors of the rest of the level in a good way.

The visuals tell me a story of digging up a pearl in the sand. Beautiful story.

The art and storytelling is really well done. However, your challenges need more leniency. Make it possible to beat them by making some room for error. For example, instead of jumping on one block, allow the player to jump on any three adjacent blocks to beat a challenge.

Difficulty:
Score: 0/10
Reasons:
The wave minigame was too difficult.
Gameplay:
Score: 1/10 x2 = 2
Reasons:
It's difficult to see where to go at the start.
Timed door in the purple building, and the curse timer in the last mini seem like arbritrary gimmicks to make the level feel more difficult.
Lighthouse sign is hard to read.
Falling back into previous minigames in the Lifeguard section:
-I have to back up to the edge block to make the jump... oops fell off... have to do that last mini I already beat all over again.
-I have to make a jump towards the edge of the previous mini and hook around. If I miss that jump or hook I fly back into the previous minigame, and have to beat it again.
On the positive side, the switch puzzles and the car minigame were pretty fun.
The biggest problem I have with the gameplay is what I'm told at the start sets up false expectations.
I'm told that I'll live a day as a soda clerk. What I expect is to mix sodas at the fountain and scoop the correct flavors into the drink to serve customers. Instead I get to walk to my store.
Living as a lifeguard, I'd expect to prevent people from getting in trouble, and save some lives too. I don't really get that (see story).
Points aren't being deducted for this point, but when I read that I'd play as a lifeguard and soda clerk, I thought: "Why not a sea captain too?"
Art:
Score: 6/10
Reasons:
The art in the Soda Clerk stage was pretty nice, but the lifeguard area seems a bit sparse in detail.
Story:
Score: 1/5

The soda clerk's story is okay. I went to my store through the town.
The life guard's story doesn't make sense. They say I have to rescue people in the ocean, then I swim to the other side to go to bed.

Gameplay:
Score: 2/10 x2 = 4
Reasons:
The hints in the first minis really helped with the gameplay and adjusting to the minis.
Many of the jumps require precision jumping on a single block.
Talking to the caveman twice switches the switch back to where it was before you talked to him, forcing you to talk to him for a 3rd time.
I only accidentally found out you could talk to people on the pier. It would be wise to mark your invisible portals with a command like "JUMP to talk to Vendor" in the future.
The time spent climbing the waterfall was too long. I was far more entertained with the later part of the level.
I liked the gameplay of the pier area. I just wish there were some more tasks to do and games to play.
Art:
Score: 3/10
Reasons:
The water texture was excellent, but the use of wood planks for the soil didn't work to well up close, and the detail made it difficult to distinguish the buildings in front of it.
The waterfall was sparse in decoration, but the pier looked really good.

It's a standard parkour gameplay. Some parts get a bit tedious and unforgiving, but the difficulty curve in this level is very good.

I suggest playing the levels "Squareland" by Stagecrew and "Megaman Dash" by MIHB and Megalamb. (They're in the contest topic as the difficulty guideline). Compare the difficulty of the first and last challenge, and think of how they bridged that gap.
Hope this helps.

Team Name: Music Man
Members: musicman
World Url: http://everybodyedits.com/games/PWAARxthNga0I
Theme:
Score: 10/10 x2 = 20
Reasons:
The building you start in is yellow and summery. It even has skylights to let in the sunshine.
There's a swimming pool building, ice cream truck, and beach too.
Difficulty:
Score: 7/10
Reasons:
1 block jumps are a bit tedious, but they help create moments of tension.
Note: I'd probably call this level easy-medium rather than medium.
Gameplay:
Score: 8/10 x2 = 16
Reasons:
Some jumps were a bit tough, but honestly it helps the level more than it hurts it.
You don't need all the coins to win, so that gives the player an option to skip coins that they struggle on.
Art:
Score: 10/10
Reasons:
The little details make the level look really nice.
The textures all work for the most part, and the colors look nice and summery too.
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
The level is a summer coin hunt, and that's what I get.
Total: 46/65

THE WEIRD MOUNTAIN
Team Name: Peace and Bahar
Members: peace, bahar
World Url: http://www.everybodyedits.com/games/PWAHQ7lgdga0I
Theme:
Score: 5/10 x2 = 10
Reasons:
It's a sand mountain, but it needs more summer elements in it.
Difficulty:
Score: 0/10
Reasons:
The vine climb may have been too difficult, but I was certain this level wasn't medium when I went into the dot trail room.
I didn't beat that room.
Gameplay:
Score: 0/10 x2 = 0
Reasons:
Nothing really unique about the gameplay.
Kudos to you for putting checkpoints below the portals to the door, encouraging the player to jump and thus learn about the invisible portals in the doors.
Art:
Score: 2/10
Reasons:
The doorways look nice.
The biggest problem is there is too much contrast between the dark and light backgrounds of sand mountain.
On the positive side, you did a good job with the textures.
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
You climb a mountain for some treasure. Classic story.
Good job trying to climb the mountain before realizing you have to climb it from the inside.

World ID : http://everybodyedits.com/games/PWwzEx-3UxcEI
Theme:
Score: 8/10 x2 = 16
Reasons:
The level title says it's a summer palace, and there's sand and water.
Some parts of the level are a bit too generic, and some parts make me think that this is more of a demonic theme.
Difficulty:
Score: 0/10
Reasons:
The minigames were super fun, but they were just a little to complex to be medium.
Gameplay:
Score: 8/10 x2 = 16
Reasons:
There were some parts that were confusing. But most of the minigames were great, and the two way minis were cleverly made.
Art:
Score: 10/10
Reasons:
The art is retro looking, but well done. The changing areas helps create a good amount of variety in the art.
The sunset in the background is gorgeous.
Story:
Score: 5/5
Reasons:
It's a nice story. And I even had a choice in how it ended!
Total: 0/65 (47/65)
Comments:
The level may be too difficult to be in the Summer Campaign, but I'd love to see it in a future campaign.

Reasons:
Surfing and diving. It's captured the essence of summer perfectly.
Difficulty:
Score: 6/10
Reasons:
The difficulty was perfect for the most part. The lamprey was difficult to avoid though, and it's really difficult to find the invisible portals.
Gameplay:
Score: 5/10 x2 = 10
Reasons:
Some of the underwater arrows seemed out of place. The level would have been more fluid without them.
It took some time to get used to the quick swtich between diving and surfing.
It's a super fun and creative gameplay so it was very entertaining.
It's tricky to find some invisible portals at first, but on the other hand, some of them work well for underwater surprises.
Here's the problem: had those underwater invisible portals not been mandatory, the level wouldn't have suffered. But since they are mandatory, you're telling the player to run into an invisible portal that they don't know is there.
Art:
Score: 10/10
Reasons:
The sealife is beautiful. The shop is well decorated on the outside.
The textures of the water and sky work really well.
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
Surfing and diving on a summer evening. It's a good story.

Theme:
Score: 10/10 x2 = 20
Reasons:
Of all the levels that were summer vacation themed. This one did the best at showing it.
Difficulty:
Score: 8/10
Reasons:
I think the level is easy-medium. It's got plenty of leniency.
Gameplay:
Score: 0/10 x2 = 0
Reasons:
Very creative gameplay. It can get monotonous and it requires a lot of planning.
I think the level would have done better with some kind of minigame for each activity you did.
Some parts aren't as fluid as they could be. Looks a bit rushed.
It's possible to stop and afk in the door entering systems, and even go outside without a curse because of this.
After finishing, if you tell the level you finished twice instead of going to bed the level forgets that you finished it.
Art:
Score: 2/10
Reasons:
The art is pretty average, but it looks rushed.
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
Good story about going on a vacation. It's summer themed too.
Total: 34/65
Comments:
I'm nominating this one for an honorable mention.

FEARLSESS SAND CASTLE

Members: Mkgamer, Taylor11, Cheesereal, Pandasz, Thanksmom
World Url: http://everybodyedits.com/games/PWETPCWSEucEI
Theme:
Score: 10/10 x2 = 20
Reasons:
It's a summery sandcastle.
Difficulty:
Score: 0/10
Reasons:
I broke your level. After going through the 17 switch door, I stood halfway on the block with the checkpoint above, not hitting the checkpoint. Then I suicided in the mini above that and got stuck.
Gameplay:
Score: 0/10 x2 = 0
Reasons:
Some parts of the level are too precise, like the elevator mini in the 2nd left tower, or the 1 block timed door jumps, and the jump you take before getting the nojump and protection effects.
The minigames were rather standard, nothing really stood out in a good way.
Art:
Score: 4/10
Reasons:
Most of the sand textures look nice. The level has a warm color pallette that complements the cool blue sky well.
However, the carnival stripes were out of place, and it was difficult to tell foreground and background apart at times, with the lava background and desert rock blocks.
Story:
Score: 2/10
Reasons:
Aside from playing in a summer sandcastle, there isn't much of a story.
Total: 0/65 (26/65)
Comments:
Need some work on your minigames, also try to make the level foolproof to breaking next time.

TRAVEL TO THE SUN
Team Name: Jakub321 and the Nublets.
Members: Jakub321, Loot, Kornak, Pepijnrozijn
World ID: http://everybodyedits.com/games/PW8JHBh4IocEI
Theme:
Score: 5/10 x2 = 10
Reasons:
The lower parts of the level and the sky were definately summer, but there's too much sky in the level compared to everything else.
Difficulty:
Score: 2/10
Reasons:
Some parts, like the part under the sign that says you need to go up using the fly effect, were too tedious.
Gameplay:
Score: 0/10 x2 = 0
Reasons:
Invisible portals everywhere interuppted the sky jumping alot.
I went too fast out of the right tower and missed the sign at first.
When I fail at the flying part, I have to repeat a large portion of the level... again, and again.
Art:
Score: 2/10
Reasons:
The level lacked decoration
There were industrial blocks used in favor of using backgrounds behind the blocks on the minimap. It just clashed with the rest of the summery look of the level.
The yellow bricks surrounding the temple door don't look so good up close.
The minimap art for the temple and surrounding island looks excellent, though.
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
The level says I have to travel to the sun, and I do. That's enough of a story for me.

Theme:
Score: 10/10 x2 = 20
Reasons:
A tropical island and diving? It works for the summer theme.
Difficulty:
Score: 1/10
Reasons:
Some parts of the level were tedious.
Gameplay:
Score: 4/10 x2 = 8
Reasons:
Some of the minigames were just 1 block jumps, but others were actually really fun.
The minigame right before getting the treasure, and the cave minis after finding the person in a red shirt were fun.
Other minigames, like the star trail mini in the caves, and the n shaped boost mini underwater weren't fun.
Art:
Score: 9/10
Reasons:
I really liked the bubbles and the snorkels of the people underwater.
The textures and decorations all work well for the most part.
Story:
Score: 3/5
Reasons:
I didn't even know I was looking for an artifact until I found it towards the end. Still a decent story.

Theme:
Score: 7/10 x2 = 14
Reasons:
Coral reef, sand, and water. All very summer themed. The underwater city seems a bit sci-fi, but it still works for the most part.
Difficulty:
Score: 5/10
Reasons:
Some parts were too difficult.
Gameplay:
Score: 5/10 x2 = 10
Reasons:
Some of the minigames were superb. Other ones, like the mini to hit switch 1, the mini after swtich 3, and the last mini were bad though. Too much precision jumping and/or too claustrophobic.
Art:
Score: 9/10
Reasons:
The art is great. However, the use of yellow wood planks in the sand, and blue wood planks in the water is questionable.
Story:
Score: 4/5
Reasons:
Going to explore an underwater city to activate some sort of device. Neat story.
