Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Another one of these because I like to hear about the music tastes of EE people, one reason being that I've found a lot of new music I like this way. Another reason being that there are pretty amazing musicians on EE! There are really loads of of people on EE who compose their own music, and they're really talented
So,
What kind of music do you listen to? Favourite genres, artists, bands, songs...
Do you play a musical instrument/sing? Do you make your own music?

A few months ago I discovered the electro swing genre, and soon after that I discovered and fell in love with Parov Stelar. The Lonely Trumpet being my favourite song. Via Parov Stelar I discoverd brass music. I never knew a sound could be so beautiful and touching. I was at a party some time ago where there was a live band with a saxophone and I can't describe how I felt, it was better than perfect.
Pm me with anything math related please

I like jazz and some rock if it's good, and I play the oboe.

i feel like this forum needs some sort of discussion for music
i'll start a topic:
what is your favorite music genre, and why?
mine is psychedelic rock, ambient, jazz, or some sort of alt-rock
hate pop, any pop
glam pop, modern pop, synthpop (sometimes), dream pop, lollipop

My favourite genres are anime music, vocaloid music, j-pop and j-rock. I guess you could count anime music as j-pop/j-rock but I think it has it's own style.
I believe the reason I love this kind of music so much is simply because I kinda grew up with it. I've had fun with the music in the past, so the music will keep on making me feel happy in the future too
What kind of jazz do you like btw?
Offline
I'll continue the discussion too.
I like Latin Jazz the best, and blues if I'm in the mood.
Rock too, but I'm more picky with that
I guess I like them 'cause the rhythms and the instruments really sound nice.

...Macintosh Plus - Floral Shoppe...
This actually offends me. I will state unironically that I think that this album is actually legitimately important for modern music, at least beyond radio hits, and is also just pretty good tbh
(oh also thats the album name not the song name)

I don't know about genres, but I'll try to summarise my taste:
Radiohead are my favourite band. Perhaps that's vague, so my favourite albums are Kid A and OK Computer. And I think King of Limbs was actually quite good, contrary to popular opinion. And the new album, A Moon Shaped Pool, was somewhat disappointing by Radiohead standards imo. But I do like that no two Radiohead albums sound the same. I love that they always try to change their style and sometimes innovate with each album.
I like psychedelic music, but I haven't actually gone and tried to find more. I've listened to Pink Floyd, Animal Collective (only one album), Mini Mansions and a bit of Tame Impala.
I like a few underground hip hop artists (Eyedea - probably my favourite rapper ever but I don't listen to him much anymore, Atmosphere - don't listen to them much anymore, Sadistik - don't listen to him much anymore, Nujabes - really good, Run The Jewels - also really good), but I also like a lot of Kanye West's music (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, 808s & Heartbreak and Yeezus are my top 3. Graduation is overrated imo).
I really like Pixies, but I've only heard their first three albums. They just have so much energy and so much character, and I really like that.
I'm a sucker for rock operas; my favourite album ever is Pink Floyd's The Wall.
I love Gorillaz. Plastic Beach is the best.
I've only listened to three M83 albums, and I liked two of them (Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts and Before The Dawn Heals Us) but I didn't really like the other one (Hurry Up, We're Dreaming).
I'm often intrigued by soundtracks, including anime soundtracks, because I really like the concept of creating atmosphere and emotion through music. I also like classical music for the same reason, but I don't really listen to it. The soundtrack for Welcome To The NHK was really influential to me because I really started thinking about how I could create similar emotions through my music (depression, loneliness, hope, etc). I think the thing I think about most when I'm creating music is whether it's getting across the feeling that I'm trying to create, rather than whether it's enjoyable to listen to.
Nothing else is worth mentioning.
thx for sig bobithan

For me, candy is sort of a chill / unique sound to my ears. When I hear candy, I get sent to another world.
Nice music suggestions btw.

Sent from my iPwner.
Thanks!-- even though no one did a particularly nice deed to me in the first place, but it seems ashians these days are always echoing "Thanks!" over farup cliffs and into the vast distance and beyond, to no individual in particular, like divine light: almost just a "thanks" as if to assert the fact humans have lungs, the sky is blue, or the grass is green -- akin to subconscious gas! And yes, the spelling of "ashians" was on purpose to enhance auditory effect. <:> Yeah, bland, I know. Can't get everything ya want, they say. Rather stray, but it's okay - WE'RE GAY! And that's OKAY! The FAVORITE part of MY day... *irrelevant chatter extends into the resuming post(s). note that all chatter on this forum truly IS irrelevant, so you could consider this very post here the "big bang" or "God" of all other posts on this forum. so this is arguably the most important post on this forum. but likely, no one will even get past the first few letters. o: maybe that's why we don't have proof of god, or how the world began yet? fun stuff. ;3*
