Completely random. I suppose if you marked each key you would find an extremely complex pattern, but as far as I'm concerned it's not going to effect any challenges you wish to make out of this.

I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to just make this in your own level instead of waiting for a link. I mean, there are no portals, so all there is to do is copy arrows and keys.

I put the wrong picture up. Those <<<<< arrows was because I was trying to get an AFK person out of it.

THAT, without a doubt, is random. In half an hour, I recorded how many times each key got pressed. It started out blue getting hit the most, then red got hit a lot, and then it finished with green being hit the most.

Are you sure it's not simply a VERY long term pattern being repeated? Because I thought a physics update like 10 or so months ago killed randomness. Not that I've actually noticed anything, I just read it in some thread that was gravedug by a noob.

One thing that I tested in this sistem, is that if you get out and come back, the sequency will be the same (of course using the same force to enter). This isn't random, is just multiples AFKs together, depending on the position you get on the arrow, you can, or not, pass the next, this make the "random", but it'snt random.

One time you will be in the same point (problably never because you enter there without arrows, so it's really long). Yeah, so it can work as random.

With set physics and no variables, I don't think anything in EE is truly random.

I don't understand how this is random at all. If you just let yourself go AFK, you're going to move in a pattern.

Yes, there is a pattern. But the pattern is so outrageously complex and long that nobody will ever use it to their advantage if you decide to put this in-game.

How long is the pattern? Over 30 minutes to repeat. I put Scythe in the Random Machine for half an hour. I saw absolutely no repetitiveness whatsoever.

Ohh, yeah, and how can we create random number with computers? They don't have variables, they just have fixed eletronic circuits.

How can a calculator create random numbers (cientific ones)?

It's possible to make something random, using just fixed things, but it's really hard.

This machine isn't random, is just a long pattern.

^ Computers and calculators cannot create random numbers. You're confusing pseudorandom for truly random, for pseudorandom numbers can be generated by a function whereas purely random numbers cannot.

Thus, this "random" machine is not truly random and would repeat after a set amount of time if anyone cares to test it.
