Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I've been aware that each time I access the forums, I get a lot of new content, new topics to check out, but I don't check them. After some few time, they all become "read" when I never read them. This seems to be a failure of an attempt to make the read topics server-side by Different55 according to a chat-log I have, but I don't think it would be that, so I would like to know whether you have a kind of similar issue. My request for this would be a completely client-side (cookie-side) read topics system so that this doesn't mess up as right now.

Well, this has already been mentioned in a somewhat recent topic... so
This is where I say "But I like how that works it's useful"
then someone else says
"but you can just click the "forget everything" button"
then /thread

Nope. When I tried to make topic-read tracking server-side it totally failed and everything showed up as unread. I rolled back every change made. What you're dealing with is the totally normal behavior of vanilla FluxBB. If you go 1800 seconds (30 minutes) without the forums having heard from you, they assume you've gone away and are done with your foruming session, and updates a timestamp in the database that basically says "okay, they're done here. mark every post before this time as read".
