Also, that would only be a problem if you had edit, in which case you can hold a number and then copy the text from the sign block pop-up in your block menu

mouse is also used to stop spectating even when you have edit
that problem is easy to resolve

How about with unity right click the sign to copy if that's not already taken by a second block placement (left click and right click place different blocks)

for normal signs:
In some cases there is a solution, (soemtimes) -> copy the solution and you won´t lose
