Open switch gates/doors have darker numbers
Sometimes when I need to use lots of switch gates or doors, I can get them mixed up sometimes which makes my level more difficult to enjoy. To combat this issue, I would suggest having the number appear a slightly darker shade of grey. I would imagine this also apply to coin and death gates.
Perhaps the three options could be chosen in the settings menu.

Darkest would be easiest to differentiate one from another.
I was in your world the other day and it was hard for me to tell which was open and closed.
