Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Universal switches

Currently, keys, zombie, and curse can be used universally throughout Everybody Edits. Keys affect all players, and zombie and curse can be passed on to anyone.

We need switches to do the same. Keys are timed. Why? We need a permanent, non-timed solution to Everybody Edits. We will no longer have to deal with "AFK" players holding keys, and we will be able to do many things of interaction between players. Things could be so much simpler with a universal switch.

Before you think this is somewhat useless, think about: super jump (all it does is allow players to jump higher), deaths (adds more depth, but was it really necessary), water (we could have used dots instead, though I must admit that water added a lot of gameplay improvements), and all the decos + smilies + backgrounds + blocks we've been getting.

Just give it a chance!

Edit: after the level is reset (reloaded) or after all players leave the world, all universal switches reset to their starting positions.

I fully support this man's endeavor to make universal switches a reality!

Re: Universal switches

How universal is this? Does it inverts all the switches, or does it reset all the switches?

I think it would be separate to the switches we currently have. It would work the same way though, except anyone can trigger it and it affects everyone. Universal as in it affects everyone universally, it doesn't affect all switches universally.

Re: Universal switches

So would it be a new type of switch? Eg. if there is a universal door with ID 1, and someone triggers the #1 switch, it would change state for everyone, not just for the individual player?

1st time switches WAS universal, but mrshore saw that it is really bad idea, because nobody can stand on switch blocks because levers were spammed

Re: Universal switches

Also we need non-global keys, because they are cool for making timed minis, or just used as a timer in general, but often you would want that to be single player.

Then make it so that they couldn't be spammed... Simple as that lol

Yes.

Inverts. They are also based on ID.

it will be only spammed if you want to it be (by not making a time protection or something like that)

No he's saying the owner has to place it so it can't be spammed

I don't even see why that's an issue as keys can be spammed as well

Re: Universal switches

We basically just need a global or non global option for all of the action blocks. (Well not all, but you know what I mean).

Following on this, I would like to see a non-global equivalent of keys.
