Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

One way to get around this is to make a closed off area where only people with curses can be, and only activate the timer in that area. But this doesn't work if you want players to revisit old areas, or you want players in the same area whether they have a timer or not (perhaps because of some sort of difficulty setting).
But yeah, there are cases where you need this so I think it should be added. Maybe a whole new effect. Poison, maybe.

Just thought I'd bump this (it's been pushed to page 4) because I've found another reason to add it, but also because I don't think a lot of people have seen this and I haven't seen the staff have any input in this topic.
I made a mini in a world which requires the player to start off as a zombie, complete a mini as a zombie, get cured, do the mini in reverse, hit a switch with new jumping ability, then finally do the mini again and go through the opened switch door on the other side.
If there were a lot of people doing this mini at once, it would be extremely difficult for the cured players to do the mini in reverse while zombies are coming from the opposite direction. I don't plan on this world becoming very popular (it's my submission for the going home contest), but if a popular world wants to use a similar concept, then the poison effect is absolutely essential for it to work.
So yeah, mods/admins please notice this

would really help with specific challenges in a nonlinear world that involve a timer. we were gonna do something like this for our contest world. Could also help if youre making a sm64 level and you wanna do the koopa race.

This is a good idea and there still hasn't been any staff reply, so here's another bump.
They like to keep themselves quiet, so I would not expect any response from them. It is a good idea to bump this, however, to let the staff know that this is still desired from the community.

christ you quoted that fast it was up for like a couple seconds

instead of turning off the spread, can we just make a time effect? Looks gray, has a picture of a clock on it, and it's literally just a timer
