Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

But then again, it's really not much to worry about at all.

Re: Windows 10

I'm actually pretty happy with Windows 10. Way more customizable, smoother and that Windows 7 glass design was ugly anyway.
Microsoft Edge is actually a pretty good browser and my main one currently. I'm not a MS spokesman and I still have prejudice against Microsoft browsers, but it isn't a memory hog like Chrome. That helps me a lot with playing Steam games on just 4 GB RAM.

Also, if anyone's still on W10, DON'T use your Microsoft Account to login. If you do, go in the settings and create a new local account just like in old Windows versions. I couldn't even view most Youtube vídeos while I was using my MS account and age-restricted stuff like that.

Re: Windows 10

I was at lunch coming home from my grandparent's place today and my dad called me telling me his laptop was offering him an upgrade to Windows 10.

Re: Windows 10

Ha^
I hadn't considered skipping the upgrade. Ffs, who looks a gift horse in the mouth?
Well, I'll have to rethink that. At any rate, I was expecting a notification to say "Hey, now we're in the waiting phase" which will probably take weeks for me. But nah, silence.
Wow, there are quite a few settings to punch there.

Oh yeah. I'd still be running WinXP if not for
A) the motherboard on my previous comp decided to call in sick for eternity
B) I figured win7 would be a better choice over XP for the future and hacks and things. just a gut feeling.

Don't worry. I have another XP with 512 MB ram. #lag

Re: Windows 10

You don't need to wait for the update to be downloaded, you can download microsoft's tool to update the tool manually, and download the update.

This particular computer wouldn't be able to handle any part of that. Minimum ram is > 1GB right? 512 no go

If your RAM is only 512MB, you could use ReadyBoost with your flash drive to speed things up. Dunno how that works, but it's intended for that type of memory size.

Re: Windows 10

It doesn't have readyboost, but you could always put a large pagefile on a flash drive and disable any pagefiles on internal hard drives which would sort of be the same as readyboost.

I'm going to follow that one. I'm ready for Windows 10.
I just need to find drivers for my laptop so I can update it on Windows 10.

Re: Windows 10

I just upgraded. So far I'm liking it.
For anyone who's still wary, there is an option to revert after you try out Windows 10. It's only available for a month after upgrading, though.
