Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

School Clubs and Organizations!

I had moved to a new middle school, where students could organize clubs by themselves. I really like them because i could learn a lot! Especially the English Club. It improves my English a lot! Second is Computer Club as it teaches me how to code!
Does your school have these clubs?
What do your hate about them?
Do you have any bad experience about them?

I am asking these so i can organize a better club next year in my school! //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

I'm not sure about student organised club but my last year English teacher runs a creative writing club that I go to.

Re: School Clubs and Organizations!

I've been drawing comic for my colleges newspapers for 1 and a half years now, I also distribute the paper on Fridays. I also recently joined my schools Harry Potter Alliance. We mostly do community service, like this past semester I got to go read to children and donate books to incarcerated teens. Next semester I'm going to do both of those and I plan to join the schools Renaissance and Medieval Association. We were talking about making siege machine to siege financial aid and get them to lower tuition. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile

Nothing like that at my school. I don't understand why you need any [religion] club. Especially atheism, because what can atheists do together in a club that they wouldn't do with people of other religions? Make fun of religion?

Re: School Clubs and Organizations!

There is a bible study club thing, and a catholic club (I think).  It was put together basically just to inform people that we can.

We've had some interesting discussions actually.

I think I do. Still, my first point stands. Religion should be a personal belief imo, and nothing else.

Re: School Clubs and Organizations!

Atheist people don't make fun of other religions?  Well.. not exactly.  Christians could make fun of atheists.  I think atheists get bashed on a lot because of the misconception of what they believe in.

Atheist are people who do not believe in god.  Mostly science.
We've discussed some origins of the universe, evolution, beginning of life... stuff like that.

I think the origin was someone saying that the KKK was perfectly fine in sharing their opinions, and being a group.  People started arguing, and then a teacher said that it was legal, and that even a school group could be made on their beliefs.  Somehow religion was thrown in there, and someone decided to test their freedom of assembly/speech and make an atheist group.

It was allowed, only if the group did provoke violence.  If it became an issue, then all religious clubs would be shut down.

As if America would let communism exist.

KKK probably has more rights than some people.

Also what is the English club run by students' true intentions? o.o
It could be good or bad.

hmm

good: grammar improvement, help to non-english speakers

bad: promotion of 16th century literature into a middle school curriculum

When I said bad I meant like teaching the non-english speakers to say bad things without them knowing.

Re: School Clubs and Organizations!

There isn't anything like these "clubs" in my country. Just go to school, attend class, maybe hang out with your classmates after it, go home and that's it, nothing else. Public education :/

I wonder how it'll be like next year in college..
