Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Yooka-Laylee

In case you haven't heard about this, but are a huge Rareware fan like me, a team of retired Rareware game designers has teamed up to create a new professional studio called Playtonic Games.

For those of you who aren't familiar, Rareware is behind the Genius of Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, and Donkey Kong 64. Now in an attempt to reconquer platformers, they are coming with their newest release Yooka-Laylee!

I for one am SUPER excited. Platformers are my favorite type of games, and sometimes I feel like they've been lost underneath the gritty realistic FPS's, with long over arching stories but tedious and uninteresting gameplay. So I just want to spread the word, and of course if you're interested in buying the game, you can back the kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pl … rare-vival

Yooka-Laylee stems from the word Ukelele which is a Hawaiian instrument.
Banjo and Kazooie comes from the instruments the banjo and the kazoo which are African. Donkey Kong is a play off the literary character King Kong.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Nice try.

Re: Yooka-Laylee

Looks kind of like a game for manchildren.

Are there any redeeming qualities about this besides muh nostalgia?

Uh yea! Platformers are an amazing genre that have been lost to the annals of time. I for one am glad to see a rebirth of console games that aren't blood, gore, and grit.

Re: Yooka-Laylee

Are you really so delusional that you think the popular thing is copy paste of duty? Welcome to video games!

There are way more kickstarter projects where you can pay for nothing and pray then call of dootle, just look at all the indie games that crash and burn like starbound, and I can't name any others because I have superior taste to you, but just take a look at the indie tag in steam workshop and weep.

Platformers aren't lost, can you really not name ten platformers that came out in the past 5 years?!

Re: Yooka-Laylee

I meant for console. I don't play PC games. Sony master race.

I think your posts are pretty dumb, FDOOU. Well, I've only read one of them but that's because I'm better than you.

If he keeps on saying things like "I can only provide one bad example because I'm superior to you", I could definitely get used to him.

Don't worry about Fdoou. He is entitled to his own opinions. I think they are quite humorous myself sometimes. No reason to take offense //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

The jungle world music sounds a lot like banjo kazooie! I guess it's made by the same guy who made the Banjo kazooie soundtrack

Yes, Grant Kirkhope! I love his music. He also did a few tracks for another game I help fund a while ago (A Hat in Time). I'm super excited for both games. 2016 will be great year!
