Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: [Release] Rate & Tag levels with Chrome Extension (and tutorial)

I'll keep a tab idle on the lobby, will tell when I get the blocked popup thingy again and if unblocking it results into any progress.

If you can, try disabling or removing all chrome accounts in your chrome browser (so that all extra plugins and addons are disabled.) If that doesn't work, I'll have to see what's wrong.

Released an extension update v0.2 (it'll automatically update and probably log you out) addressing issues if you rate levels too quickly, it might think that you're on the lobby.

Still no success.
Idle tab still got no popup.

Re: [Release] Rate & Tag levels with Chrome Extension (and tutorial)

Hmm. Refresh, then right-click on the ee background and click "Inspect element". Click on console, and post anything that's in red text (those are errors or network timeouts.)

Re: [Release] Rate & Tag levels with Chrome Extension (and tutorial)

Btw, the backgroundpage with the javascript from earlier? (that btw still creates errors)
This is it's content:

chrome.extension.sendRequest({greeting: "hello"}, function(response) { //request
  console.log(response.farewell); //receive response
});

Nothing you made?

P.S.
Going to try reinstalling the extension...

Edit:
No success

Re: [Release] Rate & Tag levels with Chrome Extension (and tutorial)

Console is completely empty.
Maybe post a quick update that sends hello to the console?

Re: [Release] Rate & Tag levels with Chrome Extension (and tutorial)

Is it possible to make this only appear when you are in a world?

I attempted to mess with the permissions, but the game rewrites the URL instead of going to the link so it wouldn't work.

In the tab "Sources" (f12 mode) and then "Content scripts" also doesn't show your extension, only others.

That's actually becoming a small problem (as there are ratings from user(s) which are from the lobby, and some that are getting a bit mixed up.) I released an update which will auto release in an hour, so I'll have to disable the stars in another update (I think I have to wait for this one to go through first.)

That's very strange. Hmm. I'm also not getting any errors to do with EE Recommender or the script thing that you're talking about. I'll remove that useless script in the next update (I'll push it out in an hour, as fast as it'll let me). What version of Chrome are you running?

EDIT: just released v0.3, not sure when it'll update you but I removed all traces of the useless script which was causing errors. Hope it helps. If you want to know what version the addon is, you can go to chrome://extensions

Re: [Release] Rate & Tag levels with Chrome Extension (and tutorial)

Just released an update that might fix your issues with the infinite loading/not loading. This is how you can update the extension:

- go to chrome://extensions

Then do this:

Re: [Release] Rate & Tag levels with Chrome Extension (and tutorial)

Reinstalled to get the 0.3 a bit quicker.

Error indeed is gone, and we're making progress!
In the "Sources" tab the "(no domain)"-thingy went from just (index) to all extra stuff that all start with Extension::

Still no iframe though...

I vote making a "connected" message in a little sub update (which can be deleted once we can finally get this to work...)

So far I give myself 5/5 stars for testing and annoyance c: (Too bad I can't submit that form anywhere).

EDIT:
Nvm, it all went away again.

Re: [Release] Rate & Tag levels with Chrome Extension (and tutorial)

I just pushed v0.31, update to that and it's a bit of a debug version. Once you install it go to the inspect element window and click on "Console" at the top. There should be a lot more messages (some in black text.) Tell me what messages they are, and I'll see if I can fix anything.

Thanks so far!

EDIT: try installing EE Tabs and let me know if that works (it uses a similar method to EE Recommender.)

Re: [Release] Rate & Tag levels with Chrome Extension (and tutorial)

Well, one thing is for sure.
I can successfully install your extension, but for some reason it's never recognized.
Console output still black, and simply can find no reference to your extension, only from other extensions I have.

Searched and checked everything, can't find anything that blocks the extension.

That's good; can you post the messages here? I put in some non-error debugging info in there.

Said black, meant blank, my bad.

So still nothing on the console.

Re: [Release] Rate & Tag levels with Chrome Extension (and tutorial)

Try installing EE Tabs: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta … nocmijnden

The reason why I want you to try it because it uses a similarish method as EE Recommender does, but the iframes aren't persistent. Let me know if EE Tabs works. What version of chrome are you running? On one workstation, something was preventing mine from auto-updating. You can get the chrome version by going to chrome://version

EE Tabs doesn't seem to change anything about my history or tab names (I know what it does).

Version stuff (I think the translation from Dutch to English isn't that hard):

Chrome 41 and Flash 17 are what I have too. Hmm. So when you use the direct link it works, right?

Direct page loads just fine, takes 2-3 seconds to generate auth code.

What happens if you click on the smiley (when you go to the direct link) and type in the code? Does the ee auth page convert into a white page with a dark rectangle in the corner?

Re: [Release] Rate & Tag levels with Chrome Extension (and tutorial)

When pressing the smiley the iframe does popup on the EE website.
The direct link page welcomes me (hi back) and allows me to rate.

The iframe remains displaying me the auth page with the smiley and stuff.

I have a good workaround.

1. Go to the direct link: http://ee-recommender.herokuapp.com/example.php
2. Do the EE Auth thing, make sure that you are authenticated
3. Go back to the white page that says your name. Now, close that page.
4. Go back to everybodyedits.com. You will still see the grey box. Now,
5. Refresh everybodyedits.com. You should see the five stars there.
