Chatrooms?

Purely out of curiosity, has anyone ever held a gathering in chatrooms or the likes for the community?
I know there's problems such as timezones and all, but I thought it'd be interesting, especially since it's a relatively small community, it wouldn't be that difficult. I think. Or do you all already have your cliques?

Yeah, the forums have had an IRC chat room a few times, but they're all gone now. I could go create a new one if people would use it.

There are chatrooms for EE on Kongregate, if anyone has an account/would make one. EE#1 is usually a little bit crowded so I think there's up to #4 if you want it to be more private.

There used to be a fair few tinychat rooms in 2011 people used, as Difference said there used to be a forum IRC. The obvious one still exists but I think that is about it.

Internet relay chat. It's basically just a chatroom. The 'rooms' are called channels and they all start with # (#channelname), and they can usually have their own moderation and stuff if you register the channel. And you can choose a nickname and change it whenever you like. You can usually register nicknames too, so people don't steal your identity. The channels are hosted on a server, which your IRC client will have to connect to. An IRC client can be web-based or downloadable, doesn't really matter (but downloaded is usually better). Examples of servers include Frogboxes and Rizon. I hope I got all this stuff right.
