Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: Forum Discussion Bug

It's not exactly a bug. If you are online for a while doing nothing, all the new posts become unticked, as if you've read them. So if you stay in the index for a while, then you go to forum discussion later, you don't see the new posts because the forum has decided they're not new anymore.

Well, you're not wrong, but it takes 30 minutes before the forum considers you fully offline and gone (or when you log out), which is when it marks all posts up until then as read. However, there is a mod that was actually requested to be installed before that would fix this. I'd forgotten about it until now, but instead of basing what you've read and not read based on cookies and your last visited time, it stores it all in the database so that if you never read a topic, it'll never be marked as read. It also adds a button to mark all topics as read.

Should I add it to my to-do list?

Just keep in mind that adding more and more stuff might make the forums milliseconds slower.
