[Idea] Main Website Design
Looking at some of the other designs people are making, I realized the one I made was dull. It was boring, it was old, and it was ugly. So, I decided to make another design that looked better. Right now it isn't terribly different, and still looks a little ugly, but it's in progress.
So I've made several changes from the first 'version'. I made a few changes from the image I have posted below, I'm just too lazy to get a new screenshot. I still want to use the Nokia font for headings, but keep running into an issue with cross-domain origin stuff. I also want to add a switch somewhere to darken the surrounding area of the game, but not sure where to put that; or what it will look like.

I remember seeing somewhere a suggestion to make the background behind the game randomly change, and to have the images serve as an inspiration for level creators. I personally think this is a great idea, so maybe try to include that?
As far as the current changes, I like how colorful the links are on the side, and I think the banner above the game window should match. Also, I agree with your idea to make the "Everybody Edits" title a photo, it looks very dull.

I am changing the font. It's Nokia Cellphone CF font for those that want to know.
And though I think a changing background would be fun, it might make the load time for some people extremely long. Something I could mess around with though.

Obviously the website has changed since the OP... but I don't feel like making another topic to discuss this.

I think people overreact at things. I do not understand how the font has become so "taboo" as to criminalize anybody who uses it for a reason they disagree with.
To JaWapa, you may want to try this font before everybody bombs the Everybody Edits! headquarters. I agree, however, that a pixel font would work better, considering the retro theme the game has.
