Bombot [ON/OFF]

Bombot is all about surviving. To win you have to be the last alive player in the game by avoiding all the bombs and killing other players when you are selected as a bomber. There are many things like powerups or special bombs that add much more variety to the game.

Instructions

Players

There are 2 types of players. The bomber and runners. Most of the time you play as a runner but you can also be selected as a bomber.

Runners

Your task as a runner is to avoid bombs placed by the bomber and stay alive to win. Every time when bomber places bomb and doesn't kill anyone you might be selected to take his place.

Bomber

The bomber is main player of the game. His task is to kill other players by placing bombs on them. If you kill someone as a bomber you can continue by placing another bomb, but if you miss, then someone else takes your place and you become a runner again.

Time limit

Bomber has limited time to place its bomb. If you don't do it in time you'll die and lose the round. You should make sure that this won't happen!

Coins

During game you can notice that every few seconds blue or gold coins appear. They are used as a value in shop that you can use to buy new items. Gold coins are less common than blue coins because additionally to the shop money they give you one random special bomb to use.

Special bombs

Special bombs can be obtained from shop or by collecting gold coins while in game. When you get one you can use it as a bomber by pressing DOWN.

You can see what types of special bombs are here in the Bombs list.

Each player has available 5 slots of inventory that are used to hold the bombs. When you have more than one you can switch between them by pressing UP. This works only when you are a bomber.

Powerups

Powerups are special abilities available for the runners. They can be activated by double pressing UP. You are allowed to have only one powerup at a time and you can use it only once while in game.

Shop

Shop is a place where you can buy all the bombs or powerups available in game. You use coins collected during game to buy what you want. Each item displays has it's own price.

Controls

As bomber

SPACE - Place default bomb
DOWN - Place special bomb
UP - Toggle between special bombs

As runner

Double tap UP - Use powerup

Map submissions

You can create your own maps for Bombot and share them with me here in comments.

Rules

All maps are of size 22x11 (not counting borders).

1. Top 3 rows can't have any solid blocks and you shouldn't use any limited blocks.
2. You can create them in world of any size and there can be more than one map in it.
3. Make sure to make them look good and be fun to play.
4. There can't be left any empty backgrounds.

Important

It is required that each map has sign in top left corner inside of map saying:

SCAN: <name>

Where <name> is how you want to name your map. This is so my bot can automatically convert it into files that later can be used to build it in game.

If someone different than world owner created the map design you can explicitly set it by using this format instead:

SCAN: <name> by <creator name>

Example

This shows where sign should be located and what has to be in it. Red brick background displays where you can't place any solid blocks.

I made 3 maps. The first is called "World 1-2", the second is "Tetris", and the third is "Death Hill". Curse blocks are set to 15 seconds and only one person can be cursed at a time.

My opinion on the game: It's fun at first, but it gets boring and too repetitive when the same top 5 players play all day.
