How do I make a video on the computer?

I'd like to make a video much like BEE's, showing people how I do my art. The only thing is, I have no idea where to start.

I'm assuming I'll be needing an video-recorder and a video editor, if anyone knows a good download (preferably free) then I'd be glad to use it.

Free because I'm only using this once or twice. No point in wasting my money.
