The House - Story

I write this story for portfolio at English lesson in school, hope you like it.

The House

August 2nd 2006

The Clarson family moved from London to the countryside, to escape from the crazy life in the city. Their names were Chris, Sophie, Mary and John. After a couple of hours of driving, they finally saw a small house. It was their new home. Chris was very proud of their new home. The house was old and when they entered, there was this bad smell. Sophie quickly opened all the windows, to let in some fresh air. ?You don`t have to, it doesn`t smell that bad.? shouted Chris, but Sophie ignored him. Then she shouted: ?John! Mary! Grab your stuff and get up here!? They quickly grabbed their things and went into the house. Sophie said: ?Choose your room.? John ran to his room at the speed of light! ?This one is mine!? he said. ?No, I want it!? shouted Mary. They started to argue. Sophie said:?Calm down, kids!? When they solved the problem about rooms, they had dinner. After dinner they went to bed. They were really tired because of all the travelling.

August 3rd 2006

The next morning, Chris and Sophie went to work. When they were at work, Mary and John did some housework, well... only Mary did it, John watched TV and ate popcorn. Mary was really angry about that. ?You should help me!? she shouted. John said: ?But, I want to watch my favourite show.? ?I don`t care! Get over here right now! I am older than you!? Mary shouted. John was quiet, he went to kitchen and helped Mary with the housework. Suddenly someone knocked at the door. ?I am going to open!? said Mary. It was a pizza man. Mary ordered a pizza for their lunch. ?Let`s eat!? said Mary. At 6 o`clock Chris and Sophie came home. They work all day and they were really tired. After a quick nap, Sophie started to prepare dinner. John and Mary were bored, so they decided to explore the new environment. ?Mom, can we go outside to explore the forest behind our house?? asked Mary. ?Sure, but be back soon, it`s getting dark.? It was nice summer weather outside. They started to talk about school and friends they had in London. They really missed them. ?We are going to find some new friends here tomorrow.? Said John. Then suddenly a storm started and it started to hail. John saw an abandoned house in the distance. ?Let`s go to that house.? Said John. When they got there, they hid under the table that was near the house. Mary was scared. ?How will we get home?? Mary asked. ?Don`t worry, I hope the weather will change soon.? John answered. When Mary was watching the hail falling, John took a better look of the house, then he asked her: ?Do you want to look around this house with me?? Mary didn`t agreed: ? No! What if there are ghosts inside?? John laughed: ?Ok, then you stay here and wait and I`ll in.? ?Don`t leave me alone here!? Mary begged. They slowly opened the door. It was dark, so John used a flashlight. ?It smells bad in here.? Mary said. They were in the living room. There was still some furniture inside. ?What`s that?? Mary pointed at the picture on the table. It was a picture of the family who lived there, a husband, a wife and their daughter. They found a calendar from 1972 on the floor. They went to the next room, into the bedroom. ?Look! There`s a teddy bear on the bed.? Said Mary. Suddenly, they started to hear some weird voices. ?John, I`m scared.? ?Don`t worry, it will be OK.? Mary noticed a piece of paper on the ground. ?John, look!? John took the paper. There was something written on it. John slowly read: ?OH, MOM! WHY DID YOU KILL ME?? There was a blood spot on the paper. Mary was really scared, John whispered: ?This is weird...? Then they heard footsteps behind them. Mary and John turned around and they saw a totally black creature. John`s flashlight suddenly broken down. Mary started to scream loudly. ?What`s that?? John asked.

Since that day, no one has ever seen Mary and John again
Chris and Sophie died in a car crash in 2008
