Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Hacking (everything but everbody edits)

Okay, before I get started, I want to you all to know that I DO NOT want answers that say "I don't know, but?" or "It is?" I WANT LEGAL DOCUMENTATION that it is illegal or legal to hack.
Why is important to me right now? Because, I had a serious discussion (this serious :l and -.-* and -_-*) with one of my teachers on it and I want proof from the interwebz that it is or is NOT illegal. Please for the sake of all that is sane, and pure; be serious - even if this is a kids game or forum, TRY to refrain from childish behavior.

-FM2

NOTE: I'm talking about hacking: facebook, email, twitter, tumblr, etc. If your post is irrelevant to this, then disregard this. Also, the asterisks (*) are mad marks not wittle flowers full of wittle happy bumble bees.

EDIT1: Added the "or legal" part.

Re: Hacking (everything but everbody edits)

Depends on what you want to hack, and how.

Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/legal/terms?ref=pf
Email: vague
Twitter: http://twitter.com/tos
Tumblr: http://www.tumblr.com/policy/en/terms_of_service

Read those. If it says nothing about doing what you want to do in any way, shape or form, I'm sure it's legal.

And if you haven't noticed the pattern, any website's "rules" about what you can and cannot do legally are found in the terms of service; usually at the bottom of the page.

It really all depends on what you are hacking and how.

Okay, so here's what me and my teacher talked about: It is not hacking if the person GAVE you the password to the site (facebook, email, etc.) but it IS hacking if you acquire said password without their knowledge or consent.

Just like on EE, if you GIVE someone your account info; it is NOT hacking.
