Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

If you don't have an Antivirus or a Spyware you can download for free from here
http://www.superantispyware.com/
http://www.freewarefiles.com/AVG-AntiVi … _1007.html
or others http://www.freewarefiles.com/category_17_244.html
I had once something similar patience is key, every 5 to 10 seconds a pop-up message would appear in the right corner of my screen telling me that my computer had been infected, some of the messages would tell me to go to a certain web site to download a certain antivirus, a fake one. I recomend you to use a real antivirus and anti spyware, even a free one from the links above, set them up to scan your whole computer.

These messages directing you to any virus scanner site is a virus itself, promiting their "software" which would be able to remove the virus. Thats all. Some pretty known but drastic money scam. A proper virus scanner will be able to remove it.
And it looks like this if you ask me. A real "fake message" about a virus.
Also use no-script and add-block for your internet browser. It reduces unnecessary traffic alot, blocks spam on websites etc. Really great addons for firefox.
I rune these addons on my browser along with a build in firewall on my router and Add-Aware as virus scanner. Never had a problem for years(!) now.
