That mario boss was kind of funny, though it's ironic how you point out the obvious weakspots. *ahem*finalhazardfromsonicadventure2*ahem* And that was for a final boss. The real final boss, that is. That Mario boss is what, first or second boss? Oh well.
And that Sonic boss picture link doesn't work.

I find the bosses of sonic, they try to go "too" big. I prefer simpler, but still awesome bosses. Like the giant robot at the end of Sonic & Knuckles. It uses the Master Emerald for a laser cannon. That game also had Super Mecha Sonic, which was the first and I think only boss against a character in super form. And you fight him as Knuckles. Another epic, but easy boss, was the egg-capsule from Flying battery zone. And you can't forget the boss level in Lava Reef after the Death Egg reawakens the dormant volcano. Oh, the pillar boss of Death Egg act 1 was one of my favorites, too. Blah, really, every boss from this game was amazing. But the bosses of new sonic games.. those are another story.

This one is tough for me. I'm a huge fan of classic Sonic, but I hate new Sonic. I want to get Generations just because of Classic. So, if going by classic, I vote Sonic. If voting for overall, I guess Mario. If only if Sonic didn't go wrong. I grew up playing old sonic, with Sonic 1 being my first videogame ever, and it's so disapponting to see where the franchise has gone now.

The original Sonic versus the original Mario, I'd choose Sonic, but today the Mario games are soooo much better. Sunshine, Galaxy, Paper Mario, Mario Kart, Mario Party, even the 64 one are better than ALL Sonic games.

Depends on the game they're in. Overall I would prefer Mario but in some cases I would like Sonic more. For example, I would Prefer Sonic over the two when comparing "Sonic the Hedgehog" and "Mario & Luigi: Partners in time". But, on the other hand I would prefer Mario in "Super Mario 64" over Sonic in "Sonic rush". However, in "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" they are both terrible because Meta Knight rules all.

the good sonic games such as the original 1-3 as well as S&K and Sonic CD were amazing
Sonic adventure and Sonic adventure 2 ARE SO GOOD, the sonic advanced series was alright too
Sonic's spinoffys are all pretty lame though, sonic r is a horrible game that I love dearly
meanwhile, mario is pretty consistently awesome, where sonic trying to be original falls flat(Werewolf, really?), mario does amazing(think all the stuff in smgalaxy), as well as having great spinoffs, M&L is GREAT

when it comes to entire franchises, mario is a clear winner
and just personally I think sonic's few glories do beat the best mario games, but it's a reallllly close call
as far as just characters go I like sonic a little better too
