Help With Runs and Riffs

Hello, singers! If you're not a singer then you probably won't have interest in this topic.

Anyways, I'm auditioning for Little Shop of Horrors at the end of May. For any of you who know that show, you would know that it is set around the 50s/60s, thus the songs are very jazzy and require a lot of musical talent.

I mainly have vibrato down, and my range? Not a problem. However, I seem to struggle with runs and with riffs. I can do riffs, but they sound uncontrolled. And my runs don't typically contain distinct notes (except for certain times).

Can you guys tell me of some exercises for these, as well as ways to improve my control?

I don't think there are any other singers. Sorry.

If you are in school then you should ask music teachers for help or any other people who you know are auditioning.
