Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

So I am pretty sure I am addicted to social media. Like its not even like I enjoy it, I just like constantly feel the need to check Facebook, and snapchat and my texts because I feel like someone might be angry with me, or I feel like I need to plan a social thing all the time. This is stupid. Nothing ever happens on facebook, and I literally just hung out with five friends, and then right away felt like I needed to talk to them.
Is social media overly addictive? Its definitely a distraction. Heck, right now I'm supposed to be practicing. Am I? Nope. What can be done about this? Should we encourage people not to use it? What will happen with our children/the next generation??
EDIT: I have a little more to say. Like I think social medias give us the illusion of being connected to people, when actually arent' connecting with anyone, our true friendships may even go down the tubes! I mean, facebook and whatnot can be used to build relationships, plan events, etc, but yeah
/discuss pls

I don't have a Facebook account and I (probably) won't have one for quite some time. Doesn't help that some of my real-life 'friends' would probably keep annoying me, either way.
I don't know why, but I really dislike using my IRL identity online - I never really used my full/partial name around here. It feels weird seeing people I know in real life in the internet too sometimes, although I've got a few gaming friends

I'll try to keep my comment as short, sweet, and precise as possible.
I think social media is good, but only in moderation. I think it's good in the fact that I can communicate with friend, family, and professors in a way which I never could before. E-mail is quick and convenient, and can be much faster than actually seeking out the person you need to talk to.
That being said, it's always important to be careful what you post online. Even if you are joking around, some people might take you very seriously. Also, since I doubt there is any real privacy on any social media site, I suggest being careful what you post. You never know what person, marketing company, of government official might be looking at it. Better safe than sorry.
Also, long term computer use in unhealthy. It's good to take a break and experience the real world once in a while.

the real world gives you a sunburn and a concussion and diseases for no reason. that's my outlook on life
but on social media, it's a waste of time and i don't use it.
I am on Instagram (/kik) constantly.

I joined twitter a day or two ago mainly so I could write FMOT @_______burrito_ on the school whiteboards.
