An Idea to stop raids. (somewhat)

Have it so when you sign up:
In order to post a topic must have at least 100 posts.
Too post a picture must have 200 posts.
And some damn posting restrictions jesus christ.

Yea, The raids are getting out of hand. We need like three or two new mods.

There is no way this forum will survive without more mods.

Or, we use the idea that everyone ignored.
Set time between posts to 10 minutes when no mods are on.

Then set it to 3 minutes. You dont even read, the oringinal idea was 5 minutes, but I had said that could be changed.

My idea is that people with less than X posts have to have all their posts reviewed by mods before they can be seen by anyone.

The only form of raid-defense I've seen is what Different55 said: the first X posts need moderation's approval before they get shown to the public.

But here's an addition I just thought of: Don't tell them that their post isn't shown. That way they'll just do their own thing and nobody will see it. Then, a mod will come online, and review their first 10 posts which are obviously worthless, and he'll/she'll get banned.

There's also jakery's idea which is pretty good. Each user has a "flag weight". In short, posts can be deleted automatically if enough people report it as inappropriate. When you report, and your report is useful, then your "flag weight" is heavier and is worth multiple people flagging it.

Also, make it so that it APPEARS to the new user that the post is shown, but its only shown to the poster, so he/she won't get suspicious that the post isn't there.

i once had an idea of some semi-mods, but most people disagreed. basically a few trusted forum members had a modified report system. when they report, the post is hidden until a mod looks at it. the mod can then decide if the post should go or stay.
