Ban the guest bombing!

The widely used ability has been used for a long time. It has ruined the community and made level ordering very unfair. Why not return the past? Good levels get players anyway...

Why?
Because I have seen...

* Bombed levels while owner is offline
* Bombed levels which clearly say "Off" in title
* Empty, trolled etc worlds bombed
* Levels, which have only fake guests and owner
* Not bombed levels which are much better than bombed ones but just get ignored
* Real users can't join/lag out due to fake guests

How?
It can be prevented by...

* Setting AFK limit for guests (3-10 min)
* Requiring a captcha
* (Somehow) checking if guests' client is using the latest EE swf GUI

What if...
Questions and answers.

Q: I want users to know that my level is now on.
A: Share link with friends, do manual guest bombing (open multiple EE tabs of same level),
state that on title, wait.

Q: Did all of the above, people won't come...
A: Improve your level. Make sure it's not empty, confirm that people have liked it from previous times, look for anything that could need a fix.

Q: No. I'm sure my level is perfect but still nobody's there.
A: EE idea: Rating system.
People should be able to rate levels (ratings could be cleared and disabled, if owner wants) and 1-3 featured levels (good ratings, plays and online users' amount) should be on top.

So ban guestbomb, guestbomb instead! LOL?

Manual guestbombing is painful (laggy) and is hard to prevent so users most likely won't keep it for long.

I've always manually guest bombed. I manually put in 20 guests, and as the level gets more popular, I remove them.

I've always manually guest bombed. I manually put in 20 guests, and as the level gets more popular, I remove them.

Manual means 20 tabs or windows, all loading to crash your browser ;P

When everyone uses it, indeed. If nobody would use it, like before, they will come to your levels.

An afk limit could easily be bypassed by a bot. Captchas are extremely annoying and I will forever hate EE if we need to do them all the time. Captchas can also be bypassed by some slightly more sophisticated bots that are hooked up to sites like captchatrader. How would a client check help? Believe it or not, you can guest bomb in the latest version.

Guestbombs are becoming annoying,for many reason you said.
Bad and unnoriginal levels get at the top of the list (most times) so you can't even see the good ones.
A (Bad) idea on how to somewhat get rid of a part of guestbombing :
Limit on guest on each level (Like, 10 guests max. That would already set down a little bit the guestbomb; sadly the real guests won't be able to play. that's why it's a bad idea)

Problem half solved.

MrShoe implemented a new feature: if your level has more than 2 guests from your IP address, your level view count will reset.

Cool poem And yes, I join them, guestbomb my levels when I still can.
I also sometimes bomb and make annoying levels to make them have my revenge

umm..
the bot i think is from another ip address to prevent that

First you can't give yourself multiple IP addresses, you can mask it, but you can't have the IP address of another location.

Also I have to call bs on this I tried it in a level, and nothing happened to the play count.

And lastly since when is guest bombing a problem, its the only good way of getting people into your worlds.
