Should chat be disabled when it comes down to this?

ya know?

Okay, so I was messing around in an open world today. Somebody named LOL was in there, and he suddenly asked me if I was a girl. I replied "yes", and then he says my name is Dianne (which it is). I don't know how he knows my name although I have seen him before in other levels. Anyway, he starts giving my death threats (and creepy-stalky ones for that matter). Here's a screencap:

I don't care if he's joking around or not, I don't find this funny at all and I don't want him running around doing the same thing to other people.

I am definitely aware of this, since I've seen many more outlandish things happen in chat. It's just that being the victim of one of these assaults is kind of an awkward thing especially if it's your first.

That might explain how he knows your name, but the death threats are creepy regardless.

I was thinking about the name in my profile while I was writing the post, actually.
I'm not certain if he's active on the forums at all but that's definitely a possibility.

their actually is a user on the forums called LOL, but he is currently banned, so it is possible.

Yep, that's serious. I'm not a law expert, but it may be considered a misdemeanor in U.S. courts. There's some info for you here about Criminal Threatening if you are serious about this.

I'm aware that a lot of my accounts can be found with only my name.
I don't use my real name for accounts I don't intend to be known by the public.
How he knows my name is not my concern, I'm just not very happy about these death threats I was receiving.

Ohh, I see. Wow, I remember seeing LOL a lot in the past and he wasn't as creepy as he is now.
Not sure what happened to give him such an attitude or if that was just his complete idiot decision.
