Portal Cannon Contest

Portal Cannons may have broke, but we can find new ways . When portals were released, we made up portal cannons (nobody told us to or how). So knowing what we know, lets so who can make the best Portal Cannon using the new physics.

Prizes:

1st place: 5 +Rep

2nd place: 3 +Rep

3rd place: 1 +Rep

This will be based on direction, and will be graded by how far it goes.

No we can't. The best you can make a portal cannon go is about 30 blocks.

Portal cannons still work, but they are obscenely hard to make.   Basically the only way to make a true high-speed one now is by using Mustang and my block-busting technology, although you can still make slower ones like the one catking00 posted, and I expect there are other methods of making ones with decent speeds.

Here is an example of our block-busting cannon.   They won't work horizontally, but you can make them vertical then put the smiley through a direction-change portal.   You should be able to copy that one and use it for your own map if you badly need a high-speed cannon and have sufficient portals.

edit: Its possible this cannon might not work for everybody.   Since it relies on frame skipping, if somebody has a different frame rate, it won't work.   Its hard to say, there is a lot we still don't understand about how portals work.   I added a ton of "turn" portals to send the player through the exit, marked by red, but it doesn't require that many.

If you make it keep turning like one I made one it can still work. Just keep reusing portals in different directojns, add them correctly, and voila!

so far only mihb and catking00. Everybody else has given up on portal cannons i guess.

Smileyz, the one I made will work in any direction, just by changing the direction of the exit portal.

since last update, my cannon now shoots 127 blocks high
The coin doors next to the cannon give the id of each portal.
