Speedrunning records thread

A speedrun is a playthrough of a level with the intent of completing it as fast as possible. Speedrunning can be fun and challenging, adding a competitive scene to the game as well as providing additional replay value to old levels.

In order for your submission to qualify you?ll need to supply a recording of your run (link to streaming tools at the bottom of the page).

Me and Muftwin are gonna try and get a speedrun in on coop, but we keep completely failing. I'm using a stopwatch IRL because I can't record things...

I tried to figure it out but I couldn't lol, I'm not really that good with stuff like that... mabey you can teach me how to use it?

I was just wondering... how do u make sure people don't finish the level and then simply start the stopwatch for about 1 min and stop it, take a screenie? Cause... i dont think a lot of people know how to vid things. i for one dont. and if you want 2 levels to put in do the 2x2 and 3x3. Basically, once you finish one, you finish the other one you stop the time. then you open up the other one and finish it while the time is running again. so it'll be a combined time.

I made an account on twitch.tv and downloaded the XSplit broadcaster. All you need to do then is connect the broadcasting software to your twitch.tv account inside XSplit on the broadcasting tab; mess around with the quality settings a bit (mine wasn't great); choose the screen region you want to record and you're good to go. The site automatically records any streams you've done for a while at twitch.tv/username/videos. You can watch back your whole streaming session and then isolate the good run using the site's highlight feature.

There are many other options, and you don't even need to stream if you just find some good recording software, but that's what I did.

If anything, add Illusion, that's a great speedrunning map and people have been doing it for ages. I recall Daniel setting a time of 2:45 or something and my best was 3:15. Might also have been a minute less, can't recall.

Get rid of weird concrete, its very glitchy and doesnt work most times.
