wow lol this is actually true
quite the topic for a politics debate we got there, right? (considering the topic revolves around hitler, how would godwin's law apply to this? if at all?)

i think either both should be censored or shouldn't
i believe it is only hitler being censored right now because hitler is associated with nazism and stalin is associated with communism, meanwhile nazism is prohibited in far more countries than communism. i havent tested, but im guessing that "swastika" and "nazi" are censored as well, while "communism" and "hammer and sickle" arent.

as a citizen of a country that suffered from stalin's regime just as much as from hitler's invasion, i do find the double standards here to be rather bs and support censoring either both or none

Because Hitler is generally used as an insult nowadays while stalin is not. I'm Jewish and feel like it shouldn't be censored, but I get why they censor it.

Well, until his death, his portrait was in every house and if you dared to say something bad about him that'd be an instant one way ticket to GULag
After Khrushchev came to power, he denounced Stalin and began deStalinization process in USSR, however this has been stopped once Brezhnev kicked Khrushchev out and took the leadership.

Also I did encounter people that are foolish enough to say that Stalin should be brought back, implying that if it happened he wouldn't send NKVD to their houses one day.
