Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Thanks, and anyways, I think the bunny smiley should be 75 gems, while the bird smiley should be 100 gems.

Excuse me? Morons? No ones going to risk doing hasty half-attempts.   No ones going to be stupid to do that.   Besides, a lot of people do this stuff for fame and the energy.   I agree with the delay and gems, but don't make the gems crazy like the Big Spender.   Make it maybe like 100-200 gems.

you are very wrong so be quiet, exclusive prizes for contests make them way more interesting and make people put more effort into their works.

and why the hell does everyone suggest to realse them for gems? so only the spoiled cry babies would be able to get them? //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/neutral

Do you not like people expressing their opinion? Why are you telling me to "be quiet?" If people chose to do half-attempts, they would be risking the chance of winning.   Not everyone is going to make hasty half-attempts, so the lazy people are going to lose.   You don't need special prizes to make a contest interesting.   The energy prize made it very interesting already, giving people to brag about having more than 1500 energy.

Oh wonderful. So contest after contest we shall just have energy as prizes, then all the pro's will have too much energy and no good maps entered anymore. Hence, hasty half - attempts, eventually everyone gets 1000+ energy and boom soon enough only 10 teams sign up for contest.
Also, I'm still against the smileys being put in the shop, but bird for 100 gems? Your kidding right? Commando and Ninja are worth around that. Have you gone mad? o_o

@above.   Sorry, I don't understand the rules and ideas of this forum yet.   Is there a link to rules and stuff anywhere? I'm new here and adapting from another forum I constantly go on too.

In my opinion, I think the energy idea is the coolest around.   I mean, I bet some people already have around 2000 energy.   Just imagine getting a refill from a magic coins.   I think that's godly and awesome.   But I really think some prizes of quicker energy replenishing ratio/rates should be implemented.

I already have 2109 energy, 3109 soon. There is nothing to spend the energy on so no thanks.

^ This is true. I have 489 in energy. And the only i spend on is coin doors and spawners.
Why should we get so much energy when we can't spend on more then coin doors, spawners and a lot of worlds.
Worlds that we only can create with the same bricks and gravity. Something new would be better. Like smileys.

Re: Contest Feedback and Solutions

Penguin, I believe you are wrong by saying that the exclusive smileys didn't make this recent contest more interesting than the previous one. The energy prize might be good itself, but I think the majority of the contest participators wouldn't have taken part if it wasn't for these special smileys with which they would be able to show off to other players. Everyone likes to brag a bit, and to have something that others don't have, and the easter smileys works, as said before, as a kind of trophy for contest winners and 2:nd placers.

I also think you should release some sort of easter smiley to public, but then not one of those which were prices in the easter contest. It is easter after all, or at least it was, and everyone should be able to celebrate //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink

Johan: That isn't relevant to this post and doesn't even make sense anyways.

DK Levels: You really hate me do you? Fine, the bird should be 200 gems, i don't care.   And I don't think there should be 10 team winners anymore.   I think it should be regular first, second, and third.

Nou: By a ton of spawn points? Easily get new holiday packages by saving up? High energy can guarantee you to not miss an exclusive package.

GameGus: I never said exclusive stuff don't make the contests any more interesting.   I meant that you don't need to have exclusive stuff to make a contest interesting.   A good contest is not decided upon by its prizes.   The contest winners already have plenty to brag about, they don't need some exclusive smiley(s) to do it.

Re: Contest Feedback and Solutions

For those who are upset about the "ten winners" thing just think of it like this:

There are 10 places. If you got 1-5th place you got a bird/bunny smiley and 1k energy. If you got 6-10th place you got a bunny smiley and 500 energy.

Re: Contest Feedback and Solutions

@Penguin When did DK said that she hated you? And what's the point of entering a contest just for useless energy? Like Nou said, there's nothing to buy. I just buy Coin Doors and Small worlds. Besides, you still have to wait for your energy to recharge (with getting a magic coin as an exception). The smileys are the only reason I entered the contest.

Re: Contest Feedback and Solutions

There's tons to buy: spawns, great worlds, coin doors, new packages, etc.   Getting a magic coin is the best part of having 2000+ energy.   Hardly useless.

Spawns are cheap, and who really needs great worlds aplenty?   I haven't had anything I've wanted to get in a while, and I have less than 400 energy.

There is far too little to spend on.

Only because it's a between-events time.   It's boring in the middle, but there's a lot more to buy later.   Just be patient.

As already explained many times, energy alone is NOT enough of a prize to attract the best creators and to bring out the best effort from all of the participants. Just the fact that you agreed there is nothing to buy in the store at this time proves this point, regardless of what is added later since the shop is much more likely to be stagnant versus overflowing with new items. Even when a new item arrives in the shop, those with very high energy levels (2000+) from winning past contests will easily be able to buy the new arrivals without any need to ever enter a contest to gain an even greater energy boost.

Energy alone will fail, in fact if it had been energy alone for the Easter competition I likely would not have entered. Others have agreed with this, so your claim that energy alone makes a contest interesting is not correct. The best contests DO have excellent prizes, or else people would have little motivation to enter especially when there's nothing unique to gain from it such as something exclusive. "Bragging rights" are nowhere near the same motivator as gaining something tangible that distinguishes you from others.

I know you are upset that there are smilies you can't get, and I know you don't want to see more exclusive smilies in future contests for the same reason, but fulfilling your opinion would result in a degradation of the contest to the point where it's full of sub-par maps, and so it thankfully will not happen.

Energy alone is a recipe for disaster, we might as well cancel all future contests.

Re: Contest Feedback and Solutions

Unless we use energy-only prizes as a de-incentiviser to get rid of the really good people instead of making them judges.... though I would then want a mix of energy only contests and other.

Wait, is the energy ratio increase as a prize a bad idea? Is it too much as a prize? Are the gems as a prize bad too? Would it ruin any customers or buyers and Chris's income from it?

Re: Contest Feedback and Solutions

Stop complaining to the other players that there's nothing to spend energy on, it's not our fault. besides, there are a ton of worlds and blocks that you can stock up on while we wait for new stuff.

And don't start yelling at me for that.

Oh, wait, you guys STILL didn't get your prizes?? Wow, Chris totally dropped the game.

Shift, we are not complaining to you that we won't have anything to spend all our energy on. We are simply complaining that you want the prizes that were meant for winners of the easter competition. Thought I would make something more clear.

I simply like this topic due to its sheer awesomenss of feedback and solutions, and I don't want this to be sitting in the graveyard. Seriously.
Esspecially when another contest (Halloween Contest) is coming up.
Wasn't this also stickied back then?

Yes, this topic was sticked //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile
However, BEE requested it to be unstickied because stickies don't usually get recognized.

What a coincidence to find your posts here when looking through it specifically for the upcoming contest. I've taken a lot of notes here to streamline the next contest as much as possible!

Re: Contest Feedback and Solutions

there should be sections of the contests based on max energy! that sorta makes the contest more even for pros and new players. maybe around 3-5 sections?
I suggest 200-300, 301-400, 401-500, 501-1000, 1000+

only problem is some people would suppress energy to join, but the prizes are max energy gain so... this should work. the main feature of this system is that the people who already won contests will probably be placed in the higher sections so the other people have a chance to win.
