Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Imagine you have a block and you want spikes around it. The players can just stand on the edge of the block and they won't die. So my suggestion is to add a small edge spike so you can't stand on the edge anymore.
This is how it would look:
edge | spike | edge
spike | block | spike
edge | spike | edge

This wouldn't work because of the way EE stores it's blocks in the database. It would require having to rewrite it (which I'm 100% sure they won't do)

What?
It's just a foreground block what's wrong with that

A little secret: all spikes are the same. The only difference is graphics
Just place another spike instead of edge spike

Yes and the graphics is what I want to change:

All of this can be fixed with a spike block/brick but eh devs don't like this idea somehow ( in a game about blocks )
Trolls be in da place, mon !

I don't understand. If you don't want people to stand on it, then why do you place the block in the middle in the first place? Wouldn't it make more sense to just have the ring of spikes...?

No
and why not? The block is obviously pretty useless in this current situation.

I explained why it's useful so it's obviously not useless.

I think it's just so it looks like, well, a block with spikes all around it, removing the block makes it look awkward. You can see the image below for what I mean.
Anyway, I know this thread is a suggestion, but until they magically decide to add this idea, I just put in some solutions. This includes using backgrounds and some decoration.

What if you don't want spikes on every side? Then that block becomes useful. Also you may want to use a block for aesthetic purposes.
