Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

^yes that, but you don't just take an old world and slap halloween on it.
Cmon guys, honestly, your complaining when you guys already have a prize, I'm pretty sure many ppl would ADORE the idea of winning a prize.
Even when your fighting for something that's not irl you still want a conflict. I'm not saying to manner up, but lots of other thing things to have an argument about.
Edit: I already asked Rmgmaster2000 why SCAR wasn't picked. Should I complain if I disagree. Why bother? I take he's feedback to heart.
I rather make it better then just whine to an admin getting no where .

My point exactly. I'm not asking for RPGMaster2000 to add another spot to the contest, but to reconsider what he is doing.
Why should they get all the reward for doing hardly any work?
It's stupid.
EDIT: Also Zacoist I didn't win , and I don't want people to think that's why I'm whining. Quite the opposite. I know why I didn't win and I plan to improve upon it next time.

As competitive as I am. ( Ppl from outside would know ),
my sympathy goes out to ppl who dedicated their work and didn't find the contest that fair. Not every1 can win.
My sympathy goes to the teams that actually tried, but didn't get a chance thanks to Chris' friends judging.
I can't wait till this whole thing is just over. Once again Chris messes up everything.
Lol Chris always ruins everything, when does he not, failgirl?
You know. Everyone who tried hard and got shot down in the contest. You did well. Don't take anybody's insults on how bad it was. Because those people who tell you that are just lowering themselves. Just remember they steep so low to insult you? Don't take that bullcrap. In the end it makes YOU the better person in the end.
This contest was plain bull crap.
Some levels were impossible(cause the judges were lazy and just played PART of it) people slapped "Happy Halloween" on a 3 month old level, And STILL wins. Pfff, I'm sorry, but I expected for then this... wait why? This is CHRIS we are talking about >.> Of course its gonna fail..
And I agree with your posts failgirl.
I definitly agree with your last one..
I can't wait for this to be over..
I know you people will be like "Well how about YOU judge, its a lot of work!"
Well, mabey THEY should have thought about all the work, and how many people joined and submited levels more than the Easter contest.

It was actually rpgmaster2k that did nearly all the judging by himself.
it would explain that there was a rush since there were about 169 worlds and he had to judge them all himself.
But why would he pick Smilis' and Sefanjas level?
I'm seriously wondering if he did it so at least one back up team won. I did some research, and Smilis' level was the only back-up team that snagged a prize. Though if he wanted a back-up to win I don't see why he wouldn't use GKAbyssfloridas level.
I know RPGMaster2000 is not dumb, so why would he pick such an awful level?
You may be on too something Failgirl...

i really have no idea.
i think that the mainly problem here is that none judge is following one of the most important topic, originally.
its easy to make a castle level(they are almost box games).
you from the EX crew judge compare levels with different themmes, but that is impossible.
how can i compare my level (hall of horror) with failgirl101 one (dimension H).
they are going to be different, because they are different ideas
you need first to see which ones has the same theme, and then judge then, get the betters, and then compare with the others.
The reason that there haven't been any honorable mentions yet is simply because of the massive amounts of controversy generated from the original choices and I wasn't sure at the time that it would remain that way. Now that we decided to fuse the list with the EX Crew list, there's even less reason to post the runner-ups before the final results are posted.
Regarding the SS Haunted Caves level, there was simply no way for me to know that it was an older level that was entered until just very recently when everyone is saying that. I personally found the level fun to play and had a very distinct art style. Different strokes for different blokes, no need to get so huffy about it. I do recognize the criticism though and still thoroughly wish that I could have followed my original plan of having a solid line-up of judges to talk to from the start. I'd suggest that you guys stop flaming each other, and that is directed towards you as well, Sefanja.
I'm hoping that the community results will be made soon. Currently, it's expected that about 10 more teams will be able to win the prizes ranging from 3rd to 1st.

The theme is already set before the competition: Halloween. This is a very broad theme and the way you use this theme for your level shows your originality. If you have an interesting concept you will get a high score on the concept part (if it is executed well of course).
As you can see here, we judge on 4 aspects: art, gameplay, concept and integration. So we look at levels as single entities and score them, but all under the cap of the theme "Halloween". So we don't "compare" levels so much, we score them and the best overall score will obviously win.
Before you ask any other questions, please read this thread Lopoi, as it should answer most and it saves me time from repeating things from a different thread all the time

Are we gonna use the results of the EE Community judging for the EX Crew judging or are we gonna use different results for the EX Crew judging.

That might just have been poor wording on my part, the EX Crew judging I referred to has always been the community judging. That's what I initially called since it's run by the EX Crew members primarily. The plan is to double the amount of winning teams with half of the teams already having been nominated by me and the other half being nominated by the community judging.
O ok thanks for clearing that up.

i know that the main themme was halloween, but in it there are subthemes.
its easy to make a halloween level, but to make something original, unique is rly harder.
to give grades, you need parameters, and this parameters you get comparing. you cant just see and say ?ohh thats good? in this way you were been to simple, you dontsee his idea onthe level, you just grade it.
I wonder if at least half of us will join next competition after this problems and what not. I know I wont that's for sure. I would never have guessed that the pride of winning and some smileys would bring a war and so much frustration from everyone. Something so innocent meant to be fun, turned into a disaster. Now this is a SCARY Halloween!

To be honest, my great world had a 150x160 blank part, so i slapped the biggest "HAPPY HALLOWEEN" i could make on it.

(sorry for long quote)
Concept is basically another word for "idea", so yes we do look at unique approaches, don't worry.

So, for example, if a level gets 3rd on the official judging, and gets 1st on the community judging, it will get the 1st prize or the 3rd?

well, i think that the levels that already won, dont have to participate on this contest.
