I think it's 106 magic coins TOTAL I've found. I've actually kept track of them. My max energy is 1005, and I have the Wizard and Grinch.

You must've gotten more than 106 coins if your magic is that high. I've found 87 coins and my magic is only 565. Unless of course a bunch of your magic came from contests.
