Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Chris speaks up.

I was exploring around in Chris's worlds and found him. I decided to ask him why he doesn't visit the forums, and this was his response.

af2lZ.png

After he said this, he left. I think he was ashamed if you ask me.
But then after looking at how the community disrespects him;

I could see why.
Either way, I know this won't change your minds, because your still going to complain.
But he might also be disjointed with the community.

Re: Chris speaks up.

If this is the reason why he doesn't visit, we should stop complaining!

Re: Chris speaks up.

Its impossible, its not about the complaining, its about the complainers who don't look at his perspective, I believe what he was trying to say.

Re: Chris speaks up.

Ironic. Had he actually listened to the community in the past there wouldn't be complaints.

Re: Chris speaks up.

He said the main reason, not the only reason. People will complain and probably will do so as long as there is disagreement.
Chris would have to live with this fact.

>People don't look at why I am doing this.

I think he said in one video that he was doing these things to see how much money he could make.
He obviously loves the money. Though, he has listened to complaints, notably the private/public profile options.

Re: Chris speaks up.

In my opinion Chris has a highly arrogant character. was once asking him a question on "rules" we could have for EE and he simply replied like "if you screw up we ban you. Happend already".

Wait what? What kind of answer is this? I asked him IF there are any rules to read up and he threatens with obsolete bans.
He is neither respecting his playerbase nor is he really listening to them.

Things Chris has listened to us about:
1. Private profiles.
2. Ooh smiley.
3. Secret blocks.
Etc, etc, etc.
Need I go on?

Wow I actually feel bad because I was one of the people who complained But only in one update. So I think he is scared to come in the forums because then he is going to see our hatred compliments.

Re: Chris speaks up.

Complains are no insults. Complains just show there are people interested in his product. I just feel sorry for him as he seemingly ignores his customers (we are since a few pay for the game from time to time).

And yes gogosboy, please continue the list.
All I ever heard from Chris was "screw up and you are banned" lol

Re: Chris speaks up.

I think I figured how to fix this (or at least part of it)!
There will be a special "mode" for topics called "Good topic".
The mods and admins can "Good topic" a topic when it has no complaints in it, and is a very good idea or level.
Anyone who complains in "Good topic"s about EE gets a warn and the post is deleted (not snipped, deleted). Constructive criticism != complaint.
Chris only looks at "Good topics".
Chris doesn't see any complaints.
Yes, I know this is hard to implement.

Re: Chris speaks up.

This reminds me a lot of Stephanie Meyer. Her brother deletes any negative emails so her precious eyes don't get offended by criticism.

Yet criticism is the best way to improve. So I guess Chris wants to be a little kid and not please the community.
Personally, I'd be grateful if I had some criticism.

Don't mind Calculusguy, talking to him is a work in futility.

You don't receive any critism? Here it is, you ..

You sir, you speak the truth.

Re: Chris speaks up.

This is an effort to reply to many of these posts in a single post.

I can see reason behind his not coming to the forums. Constructive criticism is fine as you are suggesting a solution to whatever problem you're addressing, Chris should be fine with this. Blunt complaints that scream at a person about how they've messed everything up and are worthless and such are simply uncalled for. These complaints are made by the people who aren't willing to try and solve the problem, and receive their enjoyment by making other people depressed. One of these comments can turn you into a cynic who despises the whole forum from that day forward. Now this is a bit heavier then what his actual reasons might be but it's still a point. So, if anymore constructive comments came after this traumatic event, he would simply ignore them in fear (or displeasure) of finding another complaint, right? Any problems that are results of him not reading those constructive comments should therefor be directly attributed to the person who made the complaint that "pushed him over the edge" so to speak. Now why do some of these constructive complaints make it to him? I believe this to be the work of our moderators or the lucky players who get to him. On the note of Chris wanting more money, of course he wants more money, but who doesn't! It's simply part of man-kind's built in desires that come when we are born. A sad thing, but in this world wealth is equivalent to power, and man is a power hungry creature whose animalistic character will forever be flawed. This is simply one explanation of why Chris might not listen to the forums. I'd follow his characteristics towards the forums too if I experienced this. So call him what you may, arrogant, stupid, cynical, greedy, or any other such words which would be starred out if I wrote them here, they're all really the same when you get down to it. These are qualities that prove our humanity if you ask me, and I would hate to lose my humanity for the sake of a game.

My apologies for typing so much. I typed up a lot more than I originally intended, but I put out my opinion. I'll reiterate that "My opinion." I don't really care if you follow this or not, I just thought that it needed to be stated. Everybody deserves freedom of will and their own opinions and this is mine. If I offended anybody, I'm deeply sorry, but this needed to be put out before something happens. I also realize that most of you will probably read a couple of lines or simply pass this post over, which is fine, this has become more like a speech now if you want my opinion. To those of you who do read the whole of it however, feel free to PM me with "constructive criticism" not complaints about it and thank you for your time.

*Applause* *Cheers*

Very well said. I agree. If some of us (not all, because some of us have really good comments) stopped just moaning, and actually tried to A) give a solution to the problem or B) gave Chris some room to actually figure out how to fix the problem. Just going "Chris is stupid etc. etc. etc." is not going to do anything other than cause problems. I, personally think that if you lot think that Chris is so bad at dong things, then you should just stop playing EE. Because I'm sure that no on wants someone moaning at them all the time.

Re: Chris speaks up.

I do understand. I feel pretty bad for him.

People don't understand when making a new website there will be trial and error, and that by learning from his mess ups makes the game better for the future.

I was pretty mad about the decoration update changing in the background, but then I realized it was selfish of me. Just because I liked it for art, doesn't mean other people liked random black block in their levels whenever they wanted a decoration.

Chris is an awesome game designer, and an awesome guy. People just have to be patient. Heck I joined runescape a LOOONG time ago, and I remember Jagex took out the wilderness so the game was easier to play for lower levels, and people that don't go pking. I remember how mad it made people that pked, but then I was able to actually finish quests that I had to go into the wildy for.

It's just Chris has demands from all sorts of players, it must be very frustrating trying to make everyone happy. I think what he's doing is right, and I'm sorry people are treating him so harshly.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm pretty sure he did that for legal reasons.
