Why the Zoey Poll is Biased

Most people will only vote about something they are passionate about. In this case, very few people are passionate about Zoey staying a mod. That doesn't mean these people dislike Zoey, in fact many of them probably prefer her to stay a mod. Others may not know about the work she's done and her long-standing history on the forums. But these people don't care that much, and thus will not vote either way.

However, the people who do want Zoey to be demodded are the passionate ones. They will vote without hesitation. They will rally up other members (like bimps has done and like Ninja is doing) and try to get as many people to vote to demod Zoey as possible.

The few people who are passionate about Zoey staying are the few that will vote to keep her, and they are heavily outnumbered (even though there are probably more people who either want Zoey to stay, or are content with her as a mod, altogether).

It would be more fair if the default option was to keep her, and you had to vote to demod her. That way it's voting to do something and taking an active stance to make change, because people are less inclined to vote for something to stay the same (remember Brexit?). Or, at least a 2/3 vote to make her leave instead of a simple majority.

If the forums worked like this, you could make a poll "Vote to ban or not ban Creature" and you would probably get like 3 votes to ban Creature by trolls and 0 votes to do otherwise because people will be like "that's stupid, what did he do wrong? why would i vote to ban him?" and they wouldn't take any action at all.

But, if the poll is to remain biased, I encourage everyone to vote to keep Zoey as a mod, even if there are convincing but baseless arguments out there for demodding her.

Zoey has done a lot of great work as a mod for years, you may not even notice what she does, but if you don't have a stance on the issue, vote to keep her, since it wouldn't change anything anyway, while not voting at all is throwing a vote to demod her.

While there are campaigners on the "no" side, those who are out of the loop and have no reason to say "no" will be on the "yes" side; I think there will be a number of them who decide to join in - more than those Ninja and Bimps have brought in.

no i was pointing out a logic flaw he said that there's only gonna be a demod campaign ever and then said that this topic was a keep her modded campaign which he said wouldn't exist ever i don't care if you fight back the entire point of the demod zoey topics was to spark discussion on why zoey should be demodded

nobody's really outnumbered AFAICT. It's pretty well even. For a bit last night demod had a decent lead but since then it seems like things are neck and neck. Honestly not sure what I'm supposed to do with that.

What if I force users to vote in order to continue using the forums to drag in more votes? Is that too microsoft-y?
