What's the point of even adding them? This is an English game.

It isn't an English game, it's a game in English. And AZERTY keyboards impact gameplay with WASD. Also, not everyone wants to speak English all the time, and alt commands are useful. I can't tell people that the update is coming "Soon™" if ™ doesn't even show up.
while i sort of doubt that kanji will even be readable with a font that is that small, sure, why not change the font too?

What's the point of even adding them? This is an English game.

I get EE is a small game with an even smaller staff, but I wouldn't be against someday having EE available in multiple languages. I've been in rooms before where the general conversation is all in Spanish, so I can't participate because I only speak English (and some Latin.) If there was a way to change the language options, as well as have a translator for chat, it would further open up the game as a means of interacting with each other as a community.

Kanji is probably impossibru, but maybe katakana and hiragana might work. They are not so complicated as kanji.
