If it were a phishing site instead of everybodyedits.com then it would be giving away the password... but I'm not sure who would go through all that trouble just to get someone's password for this game.

Would you guys actually use a setting to have a certain background image?
The only problem I'm seeing with it, is there are new backgrounds being added periodically. Maybe I can work on something so you prevent certain ones from showing up? Which would you prefer?
And how many people use the lights off button? Should I change that so you can set how dark the background is? I'm already making it so the background is slightly darkened, but not enough to be distracting.

Well, the login is over plain HTTP, so anyone on the same network as you can see your password provided they have the correct tools.
If you weren't going to say it, I was going to find a quote. Here's a quote.
As for the background image, I don't play EE. I don't see how it could distract you unless you're really lost. Awfully lost. If you did bring the "Lights off" button back, I'd enjoy a 100% darkness. Further, there's not a whole lot of sense in putting this much effort into the bg image. (Ehh, the settings go behind the swf?)
Finally, I like the rest of the design.

This is what I was thinking of doing. I'm unfamiliar with it, and I haven't done a lot of searching on it yet, which is why I asked. I wasn't going to start something people weren't going to use.

It is possible, and it is quite simple. First you need to make the position of the background itself relative to the client. Since the client's size never changes, you can play with the top/left value until the background fits the one of the client. Second, you would need to make sure you have enough background to the left and right.

Or... you could just have no background on the lobby and set wmode to transparent. It supposedly reduces performance a bit, but I tried it and didn't notice much of a difference.
