Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

multitasking purposes. you can create/play a level while chatting to a friend. there's also a visual aspect.

I think the chat in Everybodyedits should be improved. Like Bimps said, the overall look is terrible, there should be a 300 character limit, an anti-spam and no caps restriction, and I will probably change my mind.
Also, there should be more settings, such as clickable links, instead of a private message, you could start a private chat with the user to avoid writing /pm USER all the time.

such as clickable links

That could be dangerous, I say leave external links out of chatting, if they really want to see it, they will put the tiny effort of copy and pasting it, with just clicking, people get click happy and it takes one bot/link to ruin things. However, if they could somehow add links to other worlds that work excluding the off-site links, that would be amazing.

I do agree it should be updated though, It's fine now but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be improved to help prevent all the things people are evading anyway.

Because I like to trap people while chatting. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

But yeah, the EE chatlog could use some huge redesign. (@admins, if you are listening!)

Re: why do people use ee as a chatroom

There's nothing wrong with the EE chat, it's perfect to chat while playing, if you just want to chat, then you can send multiple messages.

This is a false statement.

Re: why do people use ee as a chatroom

Inviting people to Skype and setting everything up can be very tedious for people who you're not really in touch with.

Re: why do people use ee as a chatroom

Bimps is saying that people go on EE just to chat, when they should use something else if they just want to chat. Sure, you can chat while playing, but if you use EE as a chatroom, that suggests you're not playing anything.
