I set my world name to "stop trying to join" then people spam trying to join.

Perhaps just have this optional to turn off in level settings. This allows players who do not want to be disturbed some peace, whilst allowing players who want to filter only some of their friends out a chance to see who's knocking on their door.

Maybe if you try to join too many times it gives you a warning, and then after that the messages stop coming (but you can still try to join).

only advice when friends attempt to join

If you are in an invisible world, by yourself, only your friends can join anyways. Otherwise, other people's friends can join.
