"EE Accounts Verifier"?

I got this email today.   There is a program enclosed with it.   Does anyone know what it does, and if it is safe?

Hello, lucasa33!   We have seen a lot of unusual activity on your Everybody Edits account lately, and are suspecting that someone is spying on you and/or using your account without your permission.  If you suspect this is the case, we highly suggest you run our account verifier(http://everybodyedits.com/files/Everybody Edits Account Verifier.zip) to prove you are the rightful owner of your account. By doing so, other people with your password will not be able to access your account without your permission.  This automated email is sent to you to fight back against EE account sharing, and server spammers. This email may accidentally be emailed to you twice. Just ignore the first one. They are the (dead) newsletter, the friend invitations, and the postman. Run the program. And stop using all those bots, they are getting you in trouble. (like this!)

Just don't run anything until you got an official answer from Chris.
I'd recommend you to email him asap about this.

Oh, and there are fishing tools that impersonate "real" addresses. It is still common to find people getting hacked on WoW because of this kind of email.

Thank you for that post, ravatroll.   The fishy thing is I noticed I had one of those things in my drop box (same icon) (deleted of course).   Never ran it.   Thank you!

Oh, and ThuggishPrune himself admitted to hacking me in Coldstorm himself.
I still think some people are playing with my profile.. Or it could be a moderator.

Thats how the most scammers use to get you to click on the link. Because some people don't hover the mouse over the link.
People think its the real link because it has http inside the name.
